Casey Stockton is a bestselling author of inspirational and historical romance novels. She has said that she is a huge love of all things romantic and has never discriminated between the genres.
Still, she loves happily ever afters and for most of her life she has been drawn to regency romances. Her love for the genre was born when her grandmother gifted her a copy of “Sense and Sensibility” when she was getting into her early teenage years.
When she started writing, it was no wonder that she got started with Regency romance. It was only much later that she started dabbling in other genres even though much of her work can still be classified as sweet romance.
Stockton was born in northern California but now makes her home in Texas, where she lives with her children and her own prince charming. When she is not reading regency romances, writing or binge watching chick flicks. She can often be found cutting hair, running and enjoying anything with chocolate.
Stockton has been writing her whole life but publishing is something she never really considered until 2014. Even then, she dreamed of becoming a traditionally published author until she met a favorite author of hers. It was that author who advised her to join a Facebook group that was aimed at helping Indie authors with publishing.
It was at the group that she learned all about the many successes of Indie authors. She started thinking that if other people are attaining success as independent authors, she could do the same.
Casey Stockton published her debut novel “Love in the Bargain” in 2019 and has never looked back since. She now has more than eighteen titles across more than six series of novels in addition to several series contributed to.
She has definitely exceeded her expectations as she hit most of her goals in two months when she believed it would take at least 12. Within just two months of being published, she had made more than $5000 in sales and this gave her the motivation she needed to keep pushing on.
One of the things that has worked really well for her is the fact that tomance has voracious readers. Given that she always writes a good novel, she has always managed to keep her audience coming back for more.
“The Jewels of Halstead Manor” by Kasey Stockton opens with Giulia Pepper heading to Devon after getting a cryptic invitation from her uncle.
She desperately needs a benefactor, but she arrives at the remote estate to learn that her uncle does not want her there and in fact never sent out any invitation. She finds herself in a tight spot and needs to convince her uncle to let her stay as she figures out where she will be heading next.
Nicholas did not want to become an earl, but then an aged lord knocks on his door and informs him that he is the heir to the title when he dies. He agrees to head to Halstead Manor where he is going to be trained in earlhood.
It seems someone has it in for him as he soon gets shot in the arm and now needs to find just who wants to get him. Soon after, Giulia stumbles over a man that fell in the lane to Halstead. She learns that she is his uncle and now has to stay and nurse him back to health before deciding on her next move.
But as the danger mounts and the mystery builds, will Nicholas and Giulia be able to resolve the mystery before the Earl says it is time for her to leave Halstead and never come back?
Casey Stockton’s novel “The Lady of Larkspur Vale” introduces a woman named Mae who has always been too tall for many men. At some point, she developed feelings for Laim man and tried to start something but was shut down, leaving her heartbroken.
But Liam is now back home from the Navy to find he does not have a home as his father has been thrown into debtor’s prison. He loves Mae but knows he never handled her opening her heart to him well. Still, he believes he has the chance to prove his sincerity now.
However, her father had already offered her hand to another and he may just be too late. Her father had asked her to get to know her suitor before they could get married but Liam doesn’t intend to let her be won over by some other man. He is going to make sure that she becomes his.
It is in this novel that Casey shows her exceptional storytelling abilities as she writes a compelling regency era romance that makes her readers feel totally immersed in the happenings.
“The Widow of Falbrooke Court” by Kasey Stockton introduces Amelia Fawn. She is a woman that got engaged to her first husband and has accepted that her life has never gone as planned. He had died shortly after they got married leaving her a very young widow.
She intended to try her luck again once a reasonable mourning period passed but then her latest husband also died and she now gets the nickname of the “Black Widow.” When she loses her third husband, she believes she is cursed and vows never to marry again. Life seems to have broken the once strong and independent woman.
On the other hand is Charles Fremont, a man that has been in love with Amelia for the longest time. She has never felt anything romantic for him and even despised him and cruelly turned him down when he tried to voice his feelings.
After he watched her get married to three men he decided that he would just be a friend and stop pursuing the woman of his dreams.
When fate throws together Amelia and Charles as they try to resolve a mystery that involves both of them, she starts to see the kind and gentlemanly side of him. She started to think that maybe he may not make such a bad mate after all.
