Kate Golden
Kate Golden is a Bestselling author of a viral sensation “A Dawn of Onyx”, her debut novel. She lives in Los Angeles, and works in the film industry developing films with filmmakers and screenwriters.

When Kate is not busy telling stories, she is a move fanatic, an avid book reader, and functioning puzzle addict. As an embarrassing LA cliché, she enjoys hiking, brunch, and going to the flea market with her puppy and partner.

Kate has always loved storytelling. She has always been drawn to love stories and fantastical world building. She read “A Court of Thorns and Roses”, then read “Outlander”, the “Plated Prisoner” series all during the summer of 2021, and then she couldn’t, for the life of her, find a novel that would scratch that itch. So her fiance encouraged her to attempt to write what it was that she wanted to read so desperately.

While she loves any sort of romance, she needs some kind of plot to keep her hooked. Obviously, fantasy with a good love story is her favorite of all, however she does also enjoy a juicy murder mystery.

Kate is only able to write to her favorite TV show, movie, and video game soundtracks. She enjoys writing to soundtracks that fit the mood of a given scene or book. Some of her favorites are the soundtrack to “The Witcher” video games, “Game of Thrones”, and Miyazaki’s films.

She likes writing in big long chunks. Sometimes she will wake up at six AM and write until one or two the next morning. Part of this is probably because she has a day job and does a lot of weekend writing and needs to make the most out of just a few days. She is definitely an outliner, and a check-lister and a post-it note-er. She doesn’t believe that she has a spontaneous bone in her body.

For “Dawn of Onyx”, she was really inspired by the gemstones that she named each kingdom after. She attempted to research exactly how these stones were used and thought of by different cultures and apply this to everything from the wildlife and climates, and even to the people and professions which populate each land.

She prefers starting her fantasy worlds as close to reality as she possibly can, and expand them from there. So in this trilogy, she has tried mirroring the Stones which serve as the religious deities in Evendell to modern day religion. Each of these kingdoms has their own different approach, and none of them are right or wrong.

“A Dawn of Onyx” is the first novel in the “Sacred Stones” series and was released in 2022. Captured by the king of darkness, she was forced to find the light within.

Arwen Valondale had never expected to be the brave one, offering up her own life in order to save her brother’s. Now she has been taken prisoner by the most dangerous kingdom on the entire continent, and made to use her rare magical abilities in order to heal the soldiers of the vicious Onyx King.

Arwen better than to confront the wicked and ancient woods which surround the castle on her own, which means she has to work with a fellow prisoner to have any hope of freedom. Unfortunately, he is just as infuriating as he is cunning, and he seems to take a twisted pleasure in playing on Arwen’s deepest fears.

However here in Onyx Kingdom, trust is a luxury that she cannot afford. In order to make it out of enemy territory, she will need to navigate dark magic, backstabbing royals, and deadly beasts. However there is untold power that lies inside of Arwen, dormant and just waiting for a spark. If she is able to harness it, she just may be able to escape with her life, and hopefully, her heart as well.

“A Promise of Peridot” is the second novel in the “Sacred Stones” series and was released in 2024. A sacrifice of love, a prophecy of death, and a weapon of hope.

However Kane’s presence is quite unavoidable while he leads Arwen and her friends on this expedition to recover the Blade of the Sun, this legendary weapon with the power to kill the tyrannical Fae King Lazarus. Their uneasy truce proves to be pretty difficult to maintain for long, while Arwen starts to battle her unresolved feelings, and Kane’s willing to become darkness itself in order to keep her safe.

Arwen knows failure to fulfill the prophecy is going to seal both her own fate and the fates of those that she loves the most. However while Arwen faces foes, creatures, and magic beyond all of her wildest imaginings, her own resolve gets tested in ways that she never could have foreseen.

“A Reign of Rose” is the third novel in the “Sacred Stones” series and was released in 2024. One prophecy, two kingdoms, just one king. A single chance to save everything.

Arwen Valondale started life as nobody, as nothing. However she has now risen all the way to unimaginable heights, done some astonishing deeds, and even fallen in love. With Kane Ravenwood, her arch nemesis. He stands for everything that she hates fear, confusion, darkness, and uncertainty. But she just cannot quite seem to leave him behind, she has journeyed to the highest peaks, the most distant of lands, and even the depths of the seas, with Kane always being there with her.

At first, Arwen had believed that Kane was the reason that her kingdom had fallen to war; but now she knows that it is the Fae King Lazarus, and that she has been prophesied to defeat him. Just by working with Kane is she going to be able to defeat Lazarus, once and for all, and save herself, her kingdom, and quite possibly her heart too.
