Kate Ryder is a bestselling romance and fantasy fiction author from South East England. The author was born in Middlesex in the United Kingdom but spent much of his earlier years living in Surrey.

It was a great childhood as he spent his years living in a cottage with views of the South Downs. When she left school, she studied drama but it was not long before she discovered that she had a preference for writing as opposed to performing plays.
At some point, she would get sidetracked and work in the property, tour operating, and publishing industries.

The author published “The Forgotten Promise,” her debut fiction work in 2018, and has never looked back since.

The novelist now has more than half a dozen fiction works to her name that includes several in the “Cornish” series and a few single-standing novels.
She has now become a bestselling and award-winning author of romantic suspense and timeslip novels.

While she was born in South East England, she now lives and works in the gorgeous Tamar Valley in Cornish, where she lives with her husband and a huge coterie of animals.

Ryder’s love for fiction began when he was just a child and he would often be found with a pen in hand writing in a notebook or with her nose buried in a book.

At school, the only subjects she had an interest in were Art and English Literature. She thanks her lucky stars that she was under the tutelage of a wonderful English teacher that gave her all the encouragement she needed to write.
Upon graduating from college, she worked for a London-based publishing company as an editor at a time when most celebrities used to publish kiss and tell stories.

One of the biggest names in the space that she published was “The Stud” by Jackie Collins, which would ultimately be made into a film.

Working in the editorial team, Kate Ryder was involved in a lot of press events surrounding the film and the book.

She was involved in several book tours of authors from the United Kingdom. She also toured the UK for several days with Diana Dors, the British film star, which was a most memorable occasion.
She would then get out of the film and book world and get into property and travel. But as she approached one of her birthday milestones, she realized that it was time to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming an author.

At some point, Kate Ryder and her husband moved to Cornwall where they purchased a two-century-old derelict cottage.

While they were renovating the cottage and making it livable, they found some fascinating contents from the occupants of the house.

Apart from spending many days installing electronics, plumbing, procuring building materials, and mixing cement, she also got involved in other things.
She used to attend country fairs all over Cornwall and Devon selling complementary health products.

It was while she was on these trading endeavors that she had a conversation with a fellow trader over a cottage she once owned that got her creative juices flowing.
By this time she was an active participant in a local writers’ group and she thought she should write a short story to present to the group.
The group was mesmerized by her story and this gave her the encouragement to continue writing.

Later on, she traveled to Dorset and discovered the Shipton Gorge and Walditch village. She was fascinated by the history of the villages and the surrounding area and made use of these as the basis for her debut novel “The Forgotten Promise.”

Kate Ryder’s novel “Summer in a Cornish Cove” is a beautiful romance story of Cara Penhaligon and Oliver Foxley.

The latter is a good-looking and talented actor and one of the most desired heartthrobs in Hollywood. The man also has four kids with a woman he had gotten married to when he was in his early twenties.

He has been living a very successful and seemingly good life with his wife but slowly the marriage is coming apart. From time to time, he is taken over by a grey mist of depression, and no matter how hard he tries he cannot conquer it.
On the other hand is Cara, a young widow who is a very talented artist who makes a living from her art. With the help of numerous friends and her parents, she has been taking care of her two children.
But despite the help from her friends and parents, she also carries a lot of heaviness and sadness in her soul, which is readily apparent to anyone who looks into her eyes.
It is a captivating story that draws you in as the author’s writing style embraces everything from lust heartbreak and even fear.

“Cottage on a Cornish Cliff” by Kate Ryder is a work set one and a half years after Oliver Foxley met Cara Penhaligo who he believes is his soulmate.
But he had to let her go as he did not want to destroy his marriage and family that he loved very much.

It had been a heartbreaking decision that he now regrets, particularly after Deanna his wife says she wants to pursue life on her own terms.
On her part, Cara is a renowned world-class artist whose reputation has been on the rise as she is mentored by Greg her mentor.

The more time she spends with Greg, the more the man starts to insist that he wants to go beyond the paintbrush.

He tells her that he can offer her the protection and safety her young family is in desperate need of. Will she be able to leave her home and all the memories she made there behind?
It makes for an intensely emotional and romantic story with some very relatable characters.

Kate Ryder’s novel “Beneath Cornish Skies,” tells the interesting story of Cassandra Shaw.

To outsiders, she seemingly has a perfect life as she lives in a luxurious and beautiful house in the country.

She also has a wealthy and handsome boyfriend who caters to her every need and will not let her do a hard day’s work.

However, she thinks things are not right as her boyfriend is increasingly cold and treats her more like his housekeeper than his future wife.

Since she does not work she has lately been feeling purposeless and empty. Her life has always been riddled with self-doubt and insecurity but just for once she is certain that she needs a new beginning.
She replies to an advert for a live-in dog walker, nanny, and all-around helper for a family that makes the home on the rugged coast of North Cornwall.
It is tiring work but she finds fulfilment in it and learns to connect with the natural beauty of the countryside.
It is a wonderful story about having faith and finding inner strength.
