Kathleen Ball is a Christian Western, Contemporary and Historical Romance with memorable characters and great emotion. Kathleen began writing in 2009 and published “Callie’s Heart,” her debut novel, in 2012.
Ball now has more than fifty titles to her name among several collections and novellas. She now self publishes most of her novels since she likes to be in charge of much of the decision making in her work from writing to publishing and marketing.
Since she writes in several genres, she usually chooses just one and once she starts typing the magic usually just happens. Kathleen has said that she is a huge believer in happily ever after and love at first sight.
She is a native of Rochester, New York but now makes her home with her own prince charming in Texas. The couple has been blessed with one son and two amazing granddaughters in addition to two cats and two horses.
When she is not writing, she can usually be found reading westerns that make her eyes water.
“Cinder’s Bride” by Kathleen Ball is a novel set in the old west. The lead is Shannon, a young woman who has refused to go to the workhouse and decides to become a mail order bride.
After both her parents were killed she had been brought up in some of the toughest neighborhoods of New York. As such, she had gotten used to the danger but it was not enough to prepare her for the wild west.
She gets the first rude awakening when she discovers her husband is not a wealthy and handsome rancher but the owner of a saloon. When she disobeys his orders, he cuts her face giving her permanent scars. But she does not relent and stubbornly refuses to be made one of his whores.
Just when she is about to get another round of abuse, a handsome rancher named Cinders rescues her. But the judge says the only way she is leaving the ranch is if he agrees to marry her.
Cinders is recently widowed and does not want to marry again but there is something about the young woman that he finds so fascinating. They decide to get married and it is not long before they have a very deep friendship.
Kathleeen Ball’s novel Keegan’s Bride is a compelling romance story of a man named Keegan Quinn. At the start of this story, he is watching passengers get off an airplane wondering where his mail bride could have disappeared to. All he sees left on the tarmac is a woman with a child and a man he believes is her husband.
When he approaches, he realizes that she is his bride who has a daughter she never thought about telling him about. Keegan believes the man who was with them is the girl’s father and he could not be more furious, especially when the little girl calls him daddy.
It seems he had been swindled by a married woman and had paid their airfare. He thinks he had been a fool to think anyone would ever want him. Galloping out of town, he vows to never look back as he would never want a family, where he would have to always be looking over his shoulder.
On her part, Addy does not understand why her daughter called the sheriff daddy as it had cost her the man she had been hoping to make a life with. Even though she is hiding many secrets, she just met the sheriff and needed Keegan to marry her so that she could leave her past behind.
She thinks he may just send her back to Boston if he learns of her past. But it is a chance she is willing to take.
“Shane’s Bride” by Kathleen Ball is a beautiful romance story that introduces a woman named Cecily McGuines. After she was rescued from Indians, her life has never been the same again as she has been experiencing some horrendous nightmares.
She often has some very bad dreams that send her running out of the house and into the woods. Most of the townsfolk despise her as someone that will never be normal again. Still all she wants is to have a home and family.
Shane O’Connor, the local sheriff is tired of tracking her down every time she runs out of the house. He tells her to keep his house instead and work the farm he is building. He is one of the very few people who does not look at her with disdain and in fact he thinks he might be attracted to her.
But ever since she was attacked he has kept his distance. Until some old friends turn up and a fiore and cheating at gambling brings them ever closer.
