An American author of contemporary romance novels and historical fiction in general, the writer Kathleen Morgan is a writer of much repute, with many of her books reaching a level of global success that would be the envy of many an aspiring writer. With a number of series and titles in her extensive backlog of work, she has an impressive and highly sought after legacy, with her audience growing day-by-day. Not only that, but she still has more to come, as she continues to expand upon her themes and ideas, with more and more books set to be released on the horizon.

Early and Personal Life

Born in the United States in Long Beach California, she grew up in the area taking in inspiration from her surrounding environment, which she later put back into her work. With a keen passion for both reading and writing from an early age, she was always fascinated with the written word. Honing and refining her craft over the years to follow, she quickly managed to create a voice that was idiosyncratic and unique entirely to her.

Taking her love of literature on and studying at a higher level, she gave her material the academic foundation it needed. With a strong focus on history, and largely her Scottish roots in particular, she found herself a niche that she researched over the intervening years to come. This then paved the way for her writing career to progress, as she took the romance genre to new and exciting places, whilst subverting the many tropes along the way.

Known for infusing her faith into her work, she also writes from a Christian perspective, a feature which runs throughout. This is seen in the characters and how they interact with one another, as they struggle to overcome crises in their lives. Many readers worldwide have warmed to this and she is continually gaining a larger and larger audience day-by-day.

Still writing to this very day, she continues to release her works, many of which are inspirational in their nature. With an ever growing audience, her unique brand of award-winning literature and fantasy stories have become a permanent fixture on the scene. Planning for more titles to be released in the near future, she has a lot more novels set for in the future, something which doesn’t appear to be stopping anytime soon.

Writing Career

Bringing out her first book, Heart’s Lair, in 1991, she managed to sell it in 1990 whilst working as an army nurse stationed in Korea. This title then established her as a writer to watch, as the book soon became part of an overall series called Imperium. With this one being number five in its chronological order, she was soon well on her way towards building an impressive backlog of work.

Over the course of her writing career, Kathleen Morgan would go on to create a number of other series as well. Franchises such as her ‘Brides of Culdee Creek’ and ‘Scottish Highlands’ series would see enormous success upon their release. Gaining both commercial and critical acclaim, she was well on her way towards becoming one of the most highly regarded voices within the industry to date.

Winning awards, such as the highly prestigious Romantic Times Reviewer’s Choice award, along with the Career Achievement award, so her being accepted by her many peers and contemporaries alike. She has also reached the finalist position on numerous occasion as well, with awards such as the American RITA. All this has lead to her becoming not just one of the most commercially successful voices in the industry, but the most highly regarded as well.

Soon running to over fifteen books in total and counting, she is also one of the most consistent authors out there too. Releasing titles of a high calibre on a regular basis, she has come to be one of the best examples of her genre currently going. She has also mentored others within her profession who are up-and-coming too, lending her vast wealth of expertise and knowledge.

There are plenty more titles to come in the near future, as she has a lot more to come yet, and a lot of series currently underway. Not only that, but with her audience continually growing everyday, she works to maintain her output keeping her readers happy in the process. This seems to be a trend that will continue on into the future, as she looks to have a lot more left in her still yet to come.

Lady of Light

Initially published in 2001 on the first of April through the Redell publishing label, it marked the third title in the ‘Brides of Culdee Creek’ series. Following in much the same vein as the previous two books, it manages to deliver more of the same warmth and humor that made them both work. Providing some twists and turns along the way too, she keeps it witty and engaging, whilst offering her readers more of what they’ve now come to appreciate.

After losing his first love, a heart-broken Evan MacKay heads off home to his ancestral home in the heart of Scotland, leaving Culdee Creek behind. It’s here that he meets a young woman and finally he starts to love again, as they both embark on a whirlwind romance. Taking her back to Culdee Creek they soon start to come to terms with the realities of married life, as they seriously look at what lies ahead. Will they be able to keep the flame alive? Can Evan truly get over the past? What will become of the lady of light?

A Fire Within

First brought out through the Revell publishing house once again, this was to be the third book in the ongoing ‘These Highland Hills’ series. Carrying on from where the last left off, it was originally released in 2007 on the first of September to an already eager audience. With its historical premise still running strong, it manages to hit all the positive notes that made the previous books, whilst also providing some of its own for good measure.

Set in the month of May in 1568, a young nobleman has callously broken the heart of one Caitlin Campbell. Then Darach turns up from the MacNaghten clan, and he goes about kidnapping Caitlin in order to make a bargain for his brother’s life. That’s when they both end up in Goraidh with a priest, as they come to realize and understand the true nature of the world. Will they overcome their differences? Can they overcome their past? What will happen when they discover a fire within?
