Her books have been called character rich, romantic, and detailed, to name just a few adjectives that have been utilized to describe them.
She was born in Pasadena, California. Kathryn definitely enjoys hearing from her readers. Readers that wish to contact her can located her online via her social media or her personal site. She enjoys writing stories that include adventure and even some battles and romance set in the smack dab center of one of the more exciting times in history, the High Middle Ages.
Le Veque also enjoys writing stories that both men and women can enjoy. While this is not always the case for romance writers, she believes that she has so many readers of both genders because male readers enjoy the story written from a guy’s perspective– and a little action and adventure never hurt.
Kathryn Le Veque is the creator and the author of the Crusader series. The fictional series of novels kicked off for the first time in 2001. She followed up that debut novel with the sequel nine years later, which is titled Kingdom Come.
The Crusader is the first novel in the series of the same name by Kathryn Le Veque. This is where readers get to meet the main character of Doctor Rory Osgrove for the first time. She has a degree as a Biblical Archaeologist.
Now she’s getting her first real taste of what running her own dig will be like. She’s in charge of her very first archaeological site dig and it’s going to be set along the Pilgrim Trail. This is a very old trail that was used by many crusaders that were making their way to the Holy Land from Europe.
Her goal is to find a holy relic that if discovered is rumored to have a ton of power. That’s her goal, but she finds instead another relic. That would be the long buried tomb of a Crusader. He would have been just one of thousands that had made their way to this desert site, seeking their riches.
Rory never forgot her mission, but now that she has stumbled onto this tomb, she finds that her obsession seems to be shifting gears. The English knight appears to have been buried along with his journal and she is intrigued by it. This old diary gives her an insight into a man that appeared to have been of high status.
It appears that even King Richard had trusted him and bestowed upon him an important mission. His name was Sir Kieran Hage and he had a goal. But as this archaeologist is about to find out, not only was he different from the average Crusader, but he’s not really as dead as one would think.
It’s been eight centuries’ worth of time that has passed. Now Kieran wants to complete his age old mission. But when an evil foe from a long time ago is on his tail, Rory finds that this dig may involve more than originally estimated. Will she find that this relic is more trouble than she anticipated? Read this first novel in the series to find out!
Kingdom Come is the second novel in the Crusader series. When we last left Rory, she was dealing with a Crusader that had come to life. He had a mission as the leader of a group pursuing peace. Their goal is to bring the Siege of Acre to an end in 1192 A.D.
Kieran has a crown of thorns with him that were alleged to have adorned the head of Jesus Christ. He received it from Muslim warlords as part of a truce offering. This holy relic is very important. However, it appears that won’t keep the Crusader’s men from mutinying and even attempting to kill him.
Now the wounded and betrayed man must seek out a doctor. But the man turns out to be an alchemist instead. However, he does try to help Kieran– and puts the man into a sleep that will last forever. That way he will not die. His body suspended, he can only be woken up by deep emotion.
Now a kiss from Dr. Rory has made him wake up. They had adventures together before he went back to his own time, determined that he will carry out his goal of peace. He is trying to bring back the relic to England, but now he must evade assassins following him. He must run once more with the doctor in an attempt to get back to England and evade harm.
The two of them make their way across this landscape of Kieran’s home world. Rory is fascinated with the details of this world and tries to adapt to it. The past is much different than the world that she imagined. Caught in a different time and place, the archaeologist must try to adjust to a new world that is very different from her own.
Along the way, she has concerns that any wrong move could alter the path of history. Rory does not want to jeopardize the future by messing up the past. However, she’s starting to sense strong feelings on her part for the man fro the past.
They may be settling into their new life in Medieval times, but now Prince John has caught wind of the relic he has brought with him. The prince tries to manipulate and then threaten his way into getting it. Will he get his hands on it, and can history be preserved? Find out by picking up Kingdom Come!
