Katie May is a bestselling author of paranormal romance and general romance fiction who is known for writing about sassy and feisty females and the men who fall for them.

While she is best known for paranormal romance, she can write anything from horror to fantasy and contemporary romance fiction. May has said that she loves being able to find her limit just so that she breaks through it.

Most of her works usually come with romance, some unconventional couple pairings, and her signature humor. Usually, her novels are reverse harem novels which more often than not result in a happily ever after for all that are involved.
Katie began penning her novels while she was a law student in college, aged just twenty. She published The Darkness We Crave her debut novel and the first of the Together We Fall series in 2018.

She now has more than three dozen works to her name across several series, collections of short stories, and single-standing novels.

She loves to connect with readers through her newsletter and her Facebook Group whenever she has a new release.

Just like many of her contemporaries, writing is something that Katie May has been doing for a long time.

She has been writing ever since she was in elementary school and still remembers writing some short stories in her notebook that she would then share with her teacher.

Surprisingly enough, she never thought of a career as an author and did not pursue it. In fact, she would pursue legal studies and political science when she went to college intending to proceed to law school and become a lawyer.
Katie only published her debut novel since she had made a bet with her sister. She had no idea what she was doing or the why of it but just got a cheap cover and a few days later she published her manuscript on Amazon.

To her surprise, the book went on to become very popular as one very famous indie author promoted it in her group. It was then that she knew that she was always meant to be an author.

She loves being able to craft characters and stories from her own imagination. She will usually have so many ideas running through her head and it is by writing that she can get them out.

Katie May was inspired to begin writing paranormal romances from reading LJ Smith’s “Night World” series. She was in middle school when she first read it and would develop an obsession with witches, soul mates, and vampires.
While she does not have a favorite author in the present, she still reads a lot of reverse harem romances from the likes of Cate Corvin and her novel “Hell Hath No Fury.”

May usually pens her novels for a few hours each day, writing a minimum of 5000 words except for the weekends. When she is really feeling it she can sometimes go as high as 12,000 words in a day.

As for her biggest achievement, it would have to be when she became a USA Today bestselling author. She still feels giddy when she remembers the day she was informed of the achievement.

She has also become an international best-selling author as some of her works have been to the top 100 in five different countries.

“Monsters” by Katie May is a brilliant work that tells the story of Dracula’s daughter Violet.

You would expect her to be the perfect monster given her blood, but she turns out to be a total screwup when compared to monsters. When she is not tripping over her own feet she can be found accidentally killing someone.
Frustrated her father sends her to the Monster Academy known as the “Prodigium” where she can be trained on how to be a monster.

Things get interesting on campus when some bodies are found and she is the main suspect given that she is Dracula’s daughter.

She teams up with Van Helsing’s son Vin who happens to be her mortal nemesis. Also joining the team is Frankenstein’s son Frankie, Medusa’s son Mason and Dr. Jekyll’s son Jack.
With such a team, she might just have a chance at getting to the truth but that is if she does not get killed first.

It makes for a thrilling reverse harem horror comedy with some dark aspects that will have you in thrall right to the very end.

Katie May’s novel “Roaring” picks up from where the first novel of the “Prodigium Academy” series left off.

When Violet joined the academy, she thought it would be all about a murder spree or two, long walks on the beach, and ultimately finding a nice vampire who would make a great lifelong partner.
But what happened was that she was kidnapped by her sadistic sister and the headmaster and developed some deep emotional bonds with an eccentric group of monsters.

She had also unexpectedly started an anti-vampire movement and began to suspect that she might not be a vampire as she initially believed.
In the meantime, Dracula her father has been very evasive and has not been answering any of her questions.

Meanwhile hate groups have been mushrooming all over campus seeking to kill all vampires. As if that was not bad enough, the Roaring festival is on the horizon and Violet is not prepared for it.

It is a competition that calls for both mental intelligence and physical strength and she does not have either. It is about time she learned how to play with monsters.

It makes for a thrilling fark comedy reverse harem romance with a lot of angst, violence, and strong language.

“Venom” by Katie May opens with Violet recognizing that her life is a lie. Even though she is known for being dramatic, this is reality as she just discovered that Dracula has been lying to her and both of them will now have to pay the price.
Kidnapped by Medusa who is Mason’s mother she soon unearths even more secrets regarding her future and lineage. These are some dark and powerful secrets that could destroy the world.

Even worse is the fact that her group has since fractured over small disagreements. Hux and Jack have been acting very suspiciously while Dimitri has been a raging asshole ever as Barret has been too cagy. Mason has been dealing with his demons while Cal is missing in action.
With Frankie and Vin by her side, they will need to work together to complete the final round of the Roaring and the truth about her lineage.

It makes for a thrilling roller coaster of a ride full of twists and turns.
