Kay David is a popular American writer of suspense, contemporary, romance, romantic horror, and romantic suspense stories. She has written more than 40 books in her career. Several popular book series penned by her include The Guardians series, the Smokin’ Aces series, The Operatives series, and the Zombies and Lovers series. In addition to these, Kay has also written several standalone novels and short story collections. Kay has even made important contributions to the book series of other authors. She has collaborated with authors like Joanna Wayne and Bobby Hutchinson on several occasions. Kay hails from Texas, where she was born and brought up. Before beginning her career in the field of writing, she was involved in a variety of other career fields, such as computer programming, home building, oil & gas industry, etc.

Kay claims that she was always attracted to the writing and it has been her first love throughout. She has spent a considerable amount of time in countries like Argentina, Bolivia, and the United Arab Emirates. She has developed a great understanding of the diverse cultures of all these countries and has come to the conclusion that no place is as good as her own hometown in Texas. However, visiting different places has helped her include exciting details of all the exotic settings that she is well aware of. Dangerous men, hot Texas nights, and dark secrets often find a place in her books as essential parts of the stories. Author Kay spent her childhood on the Texas Gulf Coast. While growing up, she was surrounded by a family full of avid book lovers. She graduated from the Clear Lake City-based Houston University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in the subject of English Literature followed by a Master of Arts degree in Behavioral Sciences and then another Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems.

Kay has lived outside of the US extensively with her husband. The exposure to diverse cultures has proved to be handy in shaping her writing career. As of today, she divides her time between Florida and Texas. Kay is a great lover of cats and keeps several Bengal cats by her side all the time. Two of her favorite cats are named Lily Belle and Gus. Kay says that she was exposed to the art of writing at an early age. She attempted to write her first story in high school. By that time, she had already served as the school newspaper’s editor for 3 years. Kay even penned columns for a local newspaper. Nowadays, she writes full-time and keeps herself indulged in developing her romantic suspense books. Her novels have been published by many popular publishers like Harlequin Superromance. One of her novels published by Entangled Ignite has appeared in the top 10 list of the series romances on Amazon.

Kay has mentioned the lead characters in this series in the roles of Timothy Santos, El Brujo, Rose Renwick, Jessie Delacorte, Kingson Landry, and several others. This series features an elite team of undercover agents called the Texas Rangers, who fight crime against the dangerous cartel leaders and hardcore criminals. The debut book of this romantic suspense series is entitled ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’. It was released by the Entangled: Ignite publication in 2013. The central characters of this series include Timothy Santos, Rose Renwick, and El Brujo. Initially, Timothy Santos is introduced as an undercover agent working for the elite Texas Rangers team. He is disguised as a biker in the gang called Smokin’ ACES to gain information about a vicious cartel kingpin named El Brujo.

Timothy appears to be walking the thin line while playing the dual roles of a law-breaker and a law-enforcer. When one of his trusted informants goes missing, Timothy Santos suspects that El Brujo might have gotten him killed and decides to do everything possible to bring down El Brujo and his criminal underworld. When it requires him to travel to Rio County to meet his ex-lover, who is not just the sheriff but also his only lead, Timothy Santos doesn’t hesitate. The former lover, Rose Renwick, doesn’t show any happiness in seeing Timothy. She remembers their past explosive chemistry, which was sensual, unforgettable, and raw. She comes across a cop named Kingson Landry one night, who falls for his beauty. When he learns that Jessie is an undercover agent, he finds it even more difficult to resist her. Kingson Landry tries his best to not get too involved with because he fears he might lose her just like all the others he loved very much in the past. Falling in love with a man hiding secrets is the last thing on Jessie Delacort’s mind. Her views about Kingson begin to change when she works closely with him to deal with a dangerous drug cartel. When Kingson learns that the powerful cartel leader has set his eyes on both of them, he strives to keep Jessie safe from all harm.
