Keary Taylor is an American author best known for the writing of young adult fantasy and fiction novels. Her novels for the most part deal with loss of humanity through tech and dystopian fantasy fiction circumstances. She published her first novel “Branded”, the first novel of the Fall of Angels series of novels in 2010 and has been publishing since. Her novels include the likes of the series “Fall of Angels”, “McCain Saga”, “House of Royals”, “Crown of Death” and her most popular “Eden Trilogy”. She has always had a love for reading science fiction and fantasy and was a big fan of science fiction shows, particularly “Star Wars” and “Star Trek” that she used to binge watch with her father growing up. Self-publishing since 2009, sales of her novels went off the charts with the critically acclaimed publishing of “The Bane” the first novel of the Eden Trilogy in 2011. With 95% of her fans getting digital copies of her novels she asserts that going the self-publishing route was one of the best things she ever did.

Keary Taylor has always been an avid reader since childhood and in fact wrote a 200-page Harry Potter pulp fiction novel while she was in middle school. Nonetheless, she never did pursue her writing dream until she moved to Orcas in 2008. Her first draft of a novel was titled “Ever Burning” and according to Taylor was a terrible work and hence she never bothered to get it published. From the ashes of her first project she started work on “Branded” her debut novel that she had finished by the end of 2009. Finding a publisher proved harder than she had expected and so she went for self-publishing, which proved a huge success. However, it was not until the publishing of Eden the dystopian series that sales of her novels went through the roof. The novels the first of which was released in 2012 are about a world where cybernetic matter is infused into human DNA to make for a dystopian world and species. Influenced by the likes of Veronica Roth, Allie Condy, Dan Brown, Andrew Davidson, Stephanie Meyer, and JK Rowling she asserts that her favorite genre is currently Dystopian fiction. One of the most interesting things about Keary is that she designs all of the covers of her novels assisted only by a close friend that takes the photographs while she does the Photoshop. She has been so good at it that she also designs covers for several independent writers as a side gig.

In addition to her novels she also runs a blog and also reads several other blogs from other independent authors. She often sends out review copies of her novels whenever she writes a new novel. Another favorite thing of her is interviews of which tens can be found of her talking about her novels on blogging and reviews sites such as Goodreads. While she asserts that self-publishing has been great for her career she intends to find a publisher or agent for her most popular work the Eden Trilogy. She believes working with an agent or publisher may open doors to foreign editions of the novel, and perhaps even a movie deal for the highly popular series.

The Eden Trilogy is a captivating Dystopian trilogy of a world where the world as we know it is no more. The world is a hulk of its former self with only a handful of humans struggling to keep alive in their small society of Eden where they hope their cybernetic enemies will not be able to find them and destroy their civilization and race. The story in the trilogy is similar to the likes of “The Hunger Games” and the “Uglies” series of novels. The lead in the trilogy is Eve, a strong and unique girl whose rough lifestyle in the unforgiving world has shaped her into something of a rock. She has exceptional strength of heart and mind and is one of the small colony’s most dependable leaders and fighters. But given the nature of survival in this world, she has a penchant for stubbornness and a rather frank outlook on life. Even as the novel is dystopian science fiction and fantasy, what makes it even more interesting is the romantic aspect. Avian is Eve’s closest friend and the person she can always depend on when she is in trouble. He can even be said to know her even better than she knows herself and is accepting of all her faults and strengths. Another important person in her life is West, a man that makes her feel emotions she had never thought she would ever have. Overall the Eden Trilogy is a futuristic series full of emotion, action, romance, and drama.

“The Bane” is the first novel of the “Eden Trilogy” set immediately following the Evolution. The Torbane technology had injected cybernetic matter into human DNA infusing the resulting organisms with the capacity of self-healing and the power to regrow limbs and organs. But over the years Torbane had evolved out of control even as its DNA spread like wildfire. The new organisms now had little of the soul and were more machine hence the name the Bane. The ultimate goal of the Bane is to infect every human. They have so far been very successful with only about two percent of the global population not yet infected. The humans are hiding in the Eden colony, where Eve a strong girl is one of the leaders. Even though Eve is young, she has heard stories of how the world world used to be and will do anything to get it back. However, the more immediate problem is to preserve the colony in a world where humanity is losing the fight to the Banes one soul at a time. But in the midst of trying to keep her colony safe, she is torn between love for West and Avian, one of whom is a keeper of secrets and the other a soldier. Her choice may just determine the future of the human species.

“The Human” is the sequel to the first novel of the series “The Bane”. Eden has been cleared of all the Bane but is unlikely to be kept that way, as The bane are determined to do all in their power to wipe the human species from the planet Earth. The coming storm is nothing anyone of the remaining survivors could ever have imagined. The situation in the colony become more tense when a group of alleged survivors arrive asking too many questions but having very little answers about what they want and where they came from. Knowing how cunning The Bane can be, no one is in the mood to trust so quickly. Eve had made a choice that may have consequences in the present situation. The world about her is crumbling as she realizes who she is and fights to keep sane. She had all along believed she was human but now knows she is a cybernetic. And that is not all as she has uncovered many truths about her past and many more remain uncovered as yet. Just who is she and what is real and what is false?
