To Love and to Cherish

The novel begins with Emma Shirack’s father and mother light automobile being hit by neighbor’s truck, Mr. Cramer. The witnesses to this horrifying accidents are Emma’s sister, Katherine, and her brother Luke who saw their parents being thrown out of their buggy and dying right before them.

With the death of their parents, life changed for the worst, they almost lost their farm, and they had no one to care for them. Luke, Emma’s elder brother, and his family sold his property and moved in with his siblings.

Emma’s was already heartbroken and not fully healed from her past. Her boyfriend, Carl Freiling had deserted the Amish community of Bliss Creek 4 years earlier, and she had no proper information as to why he had left. Since then she vowed that no one would ever break her heart and that she would never date again. Thomas Brennaman was the man who was interested in dating her after his wife died four years ago from cancer. He wanted to date her, but the problems were that he always had trouble in expressing himself and thus all that Emma saw in him was a good friend.

Now Carl, the boyfriend who abandoned her returns and begs Emma to give him a second chance. Moreover, fearing he would lose in the game of love, Thomas, at last, decided to express his feelings to Emma. The entire novel is all about to terms with what her former boyfriend Carl did to her and whom she decides to date in this game of love.

To Love and to Cherish is a well written; the baseline of the story is heartbreaking with the first few pages of the novel dealing with the death of the protagonist character. It is a story of forgiveness and family relations. The characters are so real, for instance, Emma emotions are so touching and real such that you can relate to real life people.

She is dealing with the death of her parents and forgiving the man responsible is no easy task for her. The author did a splendid job, of enabling the characters to express their feelings in a way that connects with the readers. The romance part of the novel read very well, starting from Thomas to Carl.

A Heart Made New

A Heart Made New is book two in The Bliss Creek Amish series by Kelly Irvin. In this book, Annie Shirack has always been in love with David Plank right from childhood. Unfortunately, his sickness seems to be making a wide gap between them, and in addition to this David has decided that it is for their best that they never see each other again. This separation is intended for the best since this way in case David dies, Annie will not be left a young widow, and the separation makes her very upset and thus feels that he is not giving their relationship a chance.

In the absence of her parents, Annie seems like she is a burden to Luke her elder brother. And with Luke’s wife complaining that Annie is not helping a lot in the house, but she works in the local town bakery and gives her money to Luke to aid with home expenses. One day, a desperate man walks into the bakery and pulls out a gun, a few moments later the man is arrested and taken to prison, leaving behind his girlfriend and a three-year-old baby in their van.

The compassionate Ann takes them home with the belief that helping someone in need is what she is supposed to do. However, not even all the right doings in the entire world cannot change Ann’s troubled heart or can it aid her to forget the man she loves.

Love’s Journey Home

For Helen Crouch, it has been seven years since her husband died, but she is still doing fine. She now makes a living from selling canned goods and jams at the bakery. Her whole world goes into turbulence when a new family moves in town. Gabriel Gless has moved to town together with his family so as to escape the worldly influences of Indiana. For Gabriel and Helen, they have so much in common. They both have lost their spouses, and both have the experiences of raising their families alone. Also during the summer, the scorching sun and drought force the families to abandon their families and establish settlement somewhere else, and each family must find the faith and trust to follow Gods direction.

Loves Journey home is a novel that showcases, Kelly Irvin spectacular writing skills in the publishing world, the characters both primary and secondary are well crafted with each character connecting with the reader correctly. The storyline is well developed that keeps the reader’s attention captivated.
