Kendra first wrote her debut novel while she was residing in the Nevada desert and living as a wife with her husband in the Navy. She has kept up the tradition of working and writing while still in her pajamas while also juggling various moves around the country.

Currently the author calls Maryland her home. There she resides with her husband and her children as well as the various pets that they live with. She admits that she tends to have a habit of drinking too much coffee, which makes her stay up a little late at night as a consequence. As a published author, she enjoys hearing from the readers and fans of her works and says that they are the ones that help to make the job she does worthwhile!

Call of the Highland Moon is the first novel in The MacInnes Werewolves Trilogy by Kendra Leigh Castle. The debut in this romance series was first introduced for readers to enjoy in 2008 and is the first of three.

This story revolves around the main character of Gideon MacInnes. At first you might take him to be just like everyone else, but there’s something about Gideon that sets him apart from the rest of humanity. He also happens to be a werewolf, hailing all the way from the Highlands of Scotland.

While Gideon’s always had a soft spot for how beautiful the area he comes from is, he also decides that he’s got to get away from it all and heads to the upstate region of New York. He’s also contending with the destiny set in store for him of becoming the next alpha of his clan, something that is a lot of pressure.

With a snowstorm coming up quickly, Gideon ends up being set upon by rogue wolves that apparently work for some enemy he didn’t even know about. He manages to survive the attack but falls down on a doorstep of a shop bleeding, recovering from the surprise spat.

The doorstep is a romance bookstore’s step that belongs to Carly Silver. She’s a nice woman that has not had a great history with men, but this might be a situation that could work. After all, she loves pets. That’s what Carly believes Gideon to be, and so takes him home where he can be treated for his wounds. But when she wakes in the morning, she doesn’t find a canine in her bed as expected but a fully grown man without clothes on!

Carly and Gideon must spend time together as the storm outside is growing strong and they’re stuck with each other indoors. Along the way, Gideon finds out that she is his mate. Now Carly must decide whether she wants to turn into a werewolf and keep humans safe from the evil of another world, or whether she can walk away from the man that she has fallen so quickly for and could swear is her soulmate. What will the bookstore owner do? Read this first novel in the paranormal romance series to find out!

Dark Highland Fire is the second novel in The MacInnes Werewolves Trilogy by author Kendra Leigh castle. This book was first released in 2008. If you’re a big fan of romance novels and liked what you read in the first book, give the second installment a try and find out why the Romantic Times calls Castle’s world-building “superb”.

The main character in this story is Gabriel MacInnes. His life has always been something of a charmed one. He has Alpha lineage as a Highland werewolf, but had thought that he wouldn’t have to take on that much responsibility since he is the second son.

That all starts to change when the pack was set in the sights of an old enemy that has resurfaced once more to pose a threat. What he thought was the case has started to shift and he doesn’t know if the carefree life that he used to enjoy is ever going to come back.

Then there’s Rowan an Morgaine, a woman that is fleeing from a dragon prince that wants to take her for himself and is exiled from the realm of Drakkyn. She doesn’t want to have to contend with shifters while running away, but then it turns out that someone has found her hiding spot on Earth.

Her power is also starting to recede, and the only thing that can bring it back to the level that it used to be would be blood. So Rowan really has no choice when she meets Gabriel to take him on as her protector and try to get her power back.

The only problem is that the Drakkyn and the Earthly realms are starting to come together. Now the demigoddess and the werewolf have to figure out what they would be willing to give up when it comes to pursuing their fate, and to help the other. Can Gideon and Rowan figure a way to get what they’re after, or will they end up choosing to sacrifice too much? Read the second book in this paranormal romance series to find out!
