An American writer of Young Adult fiction, the novelist Kerri Maniscalco is an extremely versatile author, known for her fun and inventive brand of escapist fantasy novels. Early and Personal Life

Growing up just outside of New York City, Kerri Maniscalco would grow up surrounded by Gothic architecture, something that would come to shape her career over time. Living in what many believed could be a haunted house, she would develop a strong fascination with the paranormal and the Gothic. This would then, in turn, inform a lot of her work to follow, as she would also become heavily interested in literature, immersing herself in it fully. Constantly reading and writing, she would always be found with her head in a book, coming up with her next big idea for a story. Over the years she would take in inspiration from the world around, continually putting it back into her work at every opportunity.

With Gothic castles and dark gloomy alleys in mind, she would focus on the Gothic, as it would cast a strong shadow over all her work. Casting her eye on the Young Adult demographic, Kerri Maniscalco would hone and refine her skills as a writer throughout the years. Developing herself and her outlook on the form, she would become a lot more adept at writing for her intended market with a strong voice. She would also look towards writing historical fiction as well, combining the past with fantasy, along with elements of mystery too. Currently living in Tennessee, she continues to write to this very day, with plenty more books and series set to arrive on the horizon.

Writing Career

Bringing out her first book in 2016 she would arrive on the literary scene making a major impact with the novel ‘Stalking Jack the Ripper’. This would go on to also become the first in her series of ‘Stalking Jack the Ripper’ series of novels, as it would be followed by ‘Hunting Prince Dracula’ in 2017, along with ‘Escaping from Houdini’ in 2018. Combining her love of history and the Gothic, this series would come to exemplify exactly what Maniscalco had to offer as an author of contemporary Young Adult fiction. Reaching the top of the New York Times bestseller list on numerous occasion, she quickly gained a reputation as an author with something new to say. Reaching a worldwide audience, she would have her books travel internationally too, with readers from all across the globe enjoying her books.

It is also her passion for forensic science which informs much of her work too, something which she incorporates into her Jack the Ripper series. Looking into the history of unsolved murders such as Jack the Ripper, she carefully examines the past, doing it in a fun and inventive manner. This gives her work a certain degree of authenticity, all whilst combining it with her love of the paranormal as well. Winning various awards and nominations, has also managed to craft an image as a strong contender within her genres for years to follow. Clearly within her element, her many readers will continue to build with every passing year, as more and more discover her books every day.

Hunting Prince Dracula

Published through the ‘Little, Brown and Company’ publishing label in 2017, this would arrive on 19th of September. Marking the second title in the ongoing ‘Stalking Jack the Ripper’ series of novels, this would seek to continue in much the same vein as the original. Developing the characters and the world, it also manages to introduce plenty of interesting twists and turns of its own along the way.

Set in the castle of Vlad the Impaler, aka Dracula, this sees a series of murders taking place there, leading many to believe the dark lord himself has returned. Looking to escape the tragic uncovering of Jack the Ripper, Audrey Rose Wadsworth heads to Romania with the arrogant Thomas Creswell in tow. With the murders seeming all too familiar, Audrey Rose has to make amends with her past, as her fears are brought to life once again. Is it a copycat killer? Who is committing the murders and why? Can she find them before it’s too late, as she goes hunting Prince Dracula?

Escaping From Houdini

Initially released through the Jimmy Patterson publishing outlet, this would originally be published in 2018 on the 18th of September. Marking the third title in the much loved ‘Stalking Jack the Ripper’ series of novels, it moves on in similar manner to before. Developing the world and the characters, it really manages to breathe new life into the series, taking it in a whole new and exciting direction.

Embarking for New York City aboard the RMS Etruria, Audrey Rose Wadsworth is heading off with her crime investigating partner Thomas Creswell in tow. During their week long voyage though, women of privilege begin to go missing, as it seems the influence of the Moonlight Carnival is taking hold there. Up against the clock, Audrey must race to ensure that the killer doesn’t strike again, as they could harm someone she cares deeply about. Will she manage to find them in time? Why are they killing and what do they want? Who will come out alive as they all find themselves escaping from Houdini?
