Kerry Winfrey
Author Kerry Winfrey grew up in Bellville, Ohio, a place that she spent most of her time reading inappropriate books from the library. Not a lot has changed since then. She writes for blogs at welcometoladyville.com and for HelloGiggles.
When not busy writing something, she can most likely be found watching way too many romantic comedies or baking a pie.
Kerry’s debut novel, called “Love and Other Alien Experiences”, was released in the year 2017. Her work is from the young adult and romance genres.
“Love and Other Alien Experiences” is the first stand alone novel and was released in the year 2017. Mallory has not left the house since the day her dad left some sixty-seven days ago. She rarely leaves her bedroom (much to the chagrin of her brother), goes to her classes by webcam, and spends much of her time watching “The X-Files” or talking with the constantly obnoxious BeamMeUp on New Mexico’s premier alien message board.
However, when she is stunning nominated for homecoming queen, her life takes a rather surprising turn. She slowly starts to open up to the world outside. And possibly if she could just get Brad Kirkpatrick, her popular jock neighbor to be her date for homecoming, her classmates are going to stop calling her a freak.
Mallory discovers first love and the real meaning of home, just by taking a tiny step outside of her house.
“Things Jolie Needs to Do Before She Bites It” is the first stand alone novel and was released in the year 2018. Jolie is a bunch of things, however she knows that pretty is not one of them.
She has mandibular prognathism, which is the medical term for an underbite. It makes chewing painful, she has never been kissed, and headaches are a common occurrence. She is months out from having a procedure done to correct this underbite, and she can’t wait to get it fixed.
Jolie gets paralyzed with fear that she might die while under the knife. She, Derek, and Eveylyn (her best friends) decide they will make a “Things Jolie Needs to Do Before She Bites It (Which Is Super Unlikely, But Still, It Could Happen) list. Such as: kiss Noah Reed (her crush) and eat all the appetizers on the Applebee’s menu. However, since when did everything ever go entirely to the plan?
“Very Sincerely Yours” is the first stand alone novel and was released in the year 2021. Teddy Phillips never imagined she would still be spending each of her days surrounded by toys close to thirty years old. However working at a vintage toy store is basically all she has going on in her life after she was unceremoniously dumped by her longtime boyfriend. The only joy that she has kept is Everett’s Place, her not-so-guilty pleasure and a local kid’s show hosted by Everett St. James, who is a guy that Teddy finds quite soothing. And yeah, cute.
Teddy finds the bravery to write to the guy, feeling a bit like one of the kids that writes to him on his show. He always gives good advice and appears to have it all figured out. And he does, pretty much: he has wonderful friends, a great support system, and his dream job. However there’s still that persistent feeling in the back of his mind that something’s missing.
A woman named Theodora begins writing to Everett, he is hooked by her vulnerability and honesty. They continue to write letters to each other, all while living their own lives without ever meeting. Their worlds collide, however, they have to let go of their fears and figure out what they really want. And if the future that they want includes one another.
“Waiting for Tom Hanks” is the first novel in the “Waiting for Tom Hanks” series and was released in the year 2019. A rom-com-obsessed romantic waiting for her perfect for her leading man discovers that life does not always go according to a script.
Annie Cassidy dreams about being the next Nora Ephron. She spends days writing scripts, watching Sleepless in Seattle, and waiting about her movie-perfect meet-cute. If she could possibly find her own Tom Hanks, a man that is sensitive, sweet, and possibly owns a houseboat, her issues would vanish and her life would be totally perfect. However Tom Hanks is nowhere in sight.
When a film starts shooting in her neighborhood and Annie lands a job on set, it appears to be a sign. Then Annie meets Drew Danforth, the lead actor who is a cocky prankster who could not be any less like Tom Hanks if he tried to be. Their meet-cute is more like a meet-fail, however Annie finds herself sharing a few classic rom-com moments with Drew. Her Tom Hanks cannot be an actor that is leaving town in just a few days. Can he?
“Not Like the Movies” is the second novel in the “Waiting for Tom Hanks” series and was released in the year 2020. What happens when your life is a rom-com. But you just don’t believe in true love?
Chloe Sanderson is ever the optimist, and it isn’t because her life is at all easy. She is the only caregiver for her dad, who has early-onset Alzheimer’s, and is pretty responsible for everything. She doesn’t have any time, or interest, in getting swept up in some sort of dazzling romance. Not like Annie, her best friend, who literally penned a rom-com that is about to premiere in theaters all across America. And it happens to be inspired by Chloe and Nick Velez, her cute yet no-nonsense boss.
While the buzz for the movie starts to grow, Chloe reads one too many listicles on why Nick is the perfect guy, and now she is unable to see him as anything but Reason 4: The scruffy bearded hunk that is always there when you need him to be. However unlike the romance that Annie has written for each of them, Chloe’s not entirely sure that her own tale is going to end with a happily-ever-after.
