Kimberly Belle is an internationally bestselling American writer of mystery, thriller, suspense, fiction, contemporary, and romance stories. She has written several widely successful standalone novels, including The Marriage Lie, Dear Wife, The Last Breath, Three Days, Missing, and The Ones We Trust. Besides these, Belle has penned a couple of short story collections, one of which is in collaboration with author Mary Kubica. Her third book, The Marriage Lie, was translated into over a dozen foreign languages. It was a semifinalist in the Goodreads Choice Awards in 2017. Author Belle completed her graduation from Agnes Scott College with a bachelor of arts degree. She used to work in the field of nonprofit fundraising and marketing before shifting her focus towards writing mystery and thriller novels. Belle has lived in the Netherlands for more than a decade. Currently, she divides her time between her homes in Amsterdam and Atlanta.

Belle was born on February 20, 1968, in Tennessee. She is the daughter of a speech pathologist and a chemist and was brought up in her hometown in Kingsport. Belle gained popularity for the first time with her novel called Marriage Lie. It helped her get a lot of attraction from the who’s who of the writing world by becoming a Wall Street Journal, Globe and Mall, and USA Today bestseller. The book also reached the number one spot on the bestseller list of the iTunes UK. Belle says that growing up in the Appalachian Mountains’ foothills in Kingsport was a great learning experience for her. She was aware that the area was too gorgeous, but she could not find any beauty there. So, she started planning her escape and finally succeeded when she landed in Atlanta’s Agnes Scott College. During her stay in Atlanta, Belle came across a Dutchman, who persuaded her into visiting the Netherlands and exploring the beautiful country.

The trip was meant to be a 6-month tour, but it extended into 12 fabulous years. During this time, Belle married the Dutchman and traveled to many other countries with him. She thinks that living in a foreign country has changed her in ways that she never expected. Her attached to the Netherlands has reached such a level that she has started considering herself a half-Dutch. Belle is well aware of the culture there and can speak its language better than a native. Fifteen years back, Belle returned to Atlanta with her husband and two kids. She never misses a chance to catch a flight to Amsterdam and enjoy the place as much as she can. The authors who have influenced Belle throughout her life and career include Karin Slaughter, Lisa Unger, Harlan Coben, etc. Additionally, she keeps discovering new writers every now and then.

Belle doesn’t have any favorite book or genre as her mood keeps changing from time to time. She always dreamed of becoming a writer when she was young, but the passion subsided in trying to find a way to pay her bills. The fall in the economy in 2008 cost Belle her job and gave her an opportunity to work on the novel she always dreamed of writing with a now-or-never attempt. She spent the next two years learning the art of building a story. Belle also attended numerous courses, read a lot of stuff, found mentors and critique partners, and finally succeeded in completing her first book. The Mira publication bought the publishing rights of her first book and also offered her a two-book deal. Since then, Belle has not looked back and continued to ride on the path of success. As of today, Belle is working on the development of her latest novel. She is expected to publish it soon. Her advice to the new and aspiring writers is to keep writing as much as they can without losing the hope of making it big someday.

The debut book written by author Kimberly Belle is entitled ‘The Last Breath’. It was released by Harlequin Mira in 2014. Belle has mentioned the central characters in this book in the roles of Gia Andrews, Ella May, Ray Andrews, Jake, etc. Initially, Gia Andrews is introduced as a humanitarian aid worker. She keeps chasing disasters all over the world to provide relief. Gia is so much involved in her work that she becomes distant from the history of her family and the tragic incident that had happened 16 years ago. His father was in jail for all these years for killing her stepmother. Now, he has returned home to be with Gia. When Gia’s father breaks the news that he is suffering from cancer, she is shaken from within. As Gia prepares herself to take the responsibility of her father’s care and resume the role of the town’s infamous murderer’s daughter, she finds herself unwillingly confronting her past that she had tried so hard to avoid. Before her father loses his life to cancer, Gia learns the truth about what had really happened. This revelation causes deadlier consequences than anyone could have anticipated.

Another popular novel penned by Belle is known as ‘Three Days Missing’. It was published in 2018 by the Park Row publication. Initially, it is mentioned that the police arrive at the doorstep of Kat Jenkins to give her the terrible news of the disappearance of her 9-year-old son named Ethan. He went missing from the cabin that he was staying in, during his school field trip. The news makes Kat Jenkins distraught and shocked. As she rushes to the camp where Ethan was last seen, she is told by the search party that they have lost her son’s trail in the woods. Stef Huntington is another mom from the same school. She seems to be having everything a woman wishes for: money, a loving husband, respect in the community, and a famous son. She doesn’t know much about Kat Jenkins except for the gossip surrounding her traumatic past. As the police continue to investigate, the disappearance of Ethan Jenkins brings earth-shattering consequences on the life of Stef Huntington. The paths of the two women cross in such a way that neither of them has anticipated.
