She is also the author of the Nocturne Falls series, with eight official books in this set but twelve books total, with a short story collection released in 2017. She has contributed to three books of the Sin City Collectors series and the Happily Everlasting series in the book Witchful Thinking.

Blood Rights is the first book in the House of Comarre series. This unique fantasy series delves into a world nothing like we are used to seeing and deals with vampires and humans. Chrysabelle is the main character in this novel, and she is a comarré. The comarré are a specially created race of humans that were bred in order to fulfill their purpose, which is to be food for vampire nobility.

Chrysabelle is born into a life of service in a secret part of society that no one really knows about, and her body bears the signs of being in this class. She is covered from head to toe in gold design, gilded in vines and butterflies. She looks to be about a human around the age of twenty, but the truth is that she is one hundred and fifteen years old.

Her body produces more blood than it needs like it was meant to do, which means that if she is not fed upon frequently enough she will develop hypervolemia and die. In turn, vampire saliva gives the humans eternal youth and supernatural strength. Chrysabelle is actually special even among her kind, and the rights to her blood were sold for the highest price ever, 22 million Euro, to her new patron Lord Algernon.

The blood rights of people like her once sold to a noble mean that no other vampire is allowed to feed off of them unless their patron is deceased. So when her patron vampire is suddenly killed after a hundred years of living in his house by a weapon only people like her could wield, she becomes the main suspect in his murder and is suddenly under threat of death. Chrysabelle finds herself making a break for it into the world of mortals, which carries a significant amount of danger. She can’t even enjoy her freedom because she must journey to Paradise City to set things right.

It is there that she meets Malkolm, who used to be a noble with great power in the House of Tepes. A vampire like the ones she has known, he is actually different from the others because he is cast out of society after the second time he is cursed. Another thing about Malkolm that sets him apart from other vampires is that if he chooses to drink from someone, he will end up killing them. It is part of the conditions that come with the curse he carries, and the people that he kills live in his head, destined to haunt him forever. He has the names of his victims on his body.

When she offers to lift the curse, they forge a kind of alliance. Chrysabelle and her new friend find out that there is a plan to merge the worlds of the mortal and supernatural, something that cannot happen. They must stop this plan before it comes to be, and if they fail to stop it, then an apocalypse full of chaos will come about and rule the earth in a way that no one has ever witnessed and no one will ever witness again. Read this book for yourself to see whether Mal and Chrysabelle can pull it off.

In the second book of this urban fantasy series, Flesh and Blood, Chrysabelle is back again. She is still friends with Malkolm, but technically she does still owe him for the debt. This means that they must return to a hidden vampire city called Corvinestri. This might be a problem since neither of them is exactly welcome to this place.

The covenant between supernatural people and mortals has been broken, and they are searching for the ring of sorrows– with their problems just beginning. Chrysabelle has a brother, and this discovery could be huge. But does this mean that she must go back on a promise that she made to Malkolm– and will he be angry enough to totally change over and let the beast inside of him out? Chrysabelle must make a tough choice of whether to honor her friendship or fulfill the vow she made.

But keeping her word might come with problems of its own. It’s bad enough that there are power hungry witches on her trail, and on top of that, she has to deal with fringe vampires and the Kubai Mata. Pick up Flesh and Blood and catch the exciting adventures of Chrysabelle and Malcolm for yourself!
