Kristen published her first book ‘Come Away With Me’ on the 7th of November 2012 which became a Amazon and USAToday bestseller. She had a huge success with her first book and has since then published several books and novellas – 7 more books in the ‘With Me’ series alone. Kristen Proby keeps her personal life private and with what little information is available on her short biography in her books, Kristen has worked in hospitals briefly before turning an author. She has worked as a medical biller and then a registrar in an Emergency Room. She has also made her living as a massage therapist and as a professional photographer earlier. She lives in the Pacific Northwest with her muse and says that she loves her coffee, chocolate and also taking naps.
Kristen sold over a million copies of her first book alone by the third year of its publishing. She specializes in writing romantic stories and all of her stories have strong, loveable characters. The ladies in her story are strong, decisive but fun. The men in her stories are all the alpha-male type who are a admirable, fiercely protective of their women even when they don’t want him to be and can be a bit bossy. This friction between two strong characters, who can stand-up for themselves and still love each other to the core, make for interesting stories. She says that all of her lady characters in the books have a bit of Kristen in them and that is how all authors create their characters in the first place.
Books in the ‘With Me in Seattle’ series remain Kristen’s most popular work. Although a series, each book revolves around a different family living in Seattle. The first book, Come Away with Me, is a raunchy romance between Luke William, a mystery guy who meets with Natalie Conner, a beauty on the beach. While they seem to make a great couple, the story revolves around Luke’s mystery and how she handles it. Fight With Me, the second book in the series is about Jules Montgomery, a girl who grew up with four brothers and her no fraternization policy. While she tries to stay away from sexy men, she’s had to have a relationship with her own boss, Nate McKenna, breaking all her rules. While she tries to stay away from after the fatal night, he wants her, no matter what may come. Play With Me is about Meg, a strong character who has never had a good relationship and avoids guys like the plague.
She turns down Will Montgomery, the hot football player and a brother of her close friend. Will has never been turned down by anyone else and doesn’t take no for an answer. He tries hard to get her and while she is attracted to him, resists her temptations. Rock With Me, the fourth book in the series revolves around the sexual tension between Leo Nash, the front man from the world-famous rock bank and Samantha Williams, a girl who had previously learned the hard way why not to fall for celebrities. She tries to avoid him in spite of her attraction towards him, while he couldn’t understand why she would avoid him like he was poisonous. An interesting story between the chase and run between a couple who are in fact attracted to each other. Written with good humor, Safe With Me is about Caleb Montgomery, a former SEAL, who is now assigned to protect Brynna Vincent, a tall, attractive brunette and her two daughters from some unknown danger that is haunting them from the past. The story follows the tension from the danger, the frustration of Brynna who wants to lead a normal life and the attraction between Caleb – Brynna and the love that her girls have for him. In ‘Tied With Me’, everything is going well for Nic Dalton with her cupcake bakery taking off. Love is the last thing on her mind when her friend takes her to a fetish festival, where she meets Matt Montgomery, one of Seattle’s finest men.
They hit it off instantly and share a wonderful night and discover their passion for bondage. He likes to see women tied up in his ropes and she being tied up by her number one man. Matt suddenly has to leave her in the middle of the night without leaving his number due to a family emergency which creates some tension. Later, he couldn’t take her or the night out of mind and struggles to get her into his life. Breath With Me follows the story of Mark Williams and Meredith, his childhood sweetheart. He has loved her since he was seventeen and has never been attracted to anyone the way he was to her even when she had to leave him coldly. After so many years, their lives cross again and he tries to get her into his life but still scared if she might leave him again. Forever with Me is a romantic story between Dominic Salvatore, a truly alpha-male who has everything in his life and Alecia, who has her own successful event-planning business. Even though she arranges lavish weddings for many couples who find love, she doesn’t believe in it and has the idea that true love is a myth. When they meet and find that they are attracted to each other, it is only Dominic that wants to be with her forever and tries to convince her of the same.
Her other most popular works include her books in the ‘Boudreaux’ series. Although each book deals with a different couple, the books follow a similar theme. All of them deal with two strong characters living in the port city of New Orleans, LA. The characters are damaged due to a bitter relationship in the past and do not trust anybody. The friction between the attraction between two people and the their trust issues form the stories. When asked about the city, Kristen says that she lived in NOLA for a year and fell in love with the the port city. She says that she had a story forming in her mind as soon as she went to the city and she cannot not write a series based on the city that loved dearly.
