Kristi Ann Hunter is an award-winning Christian fiction author who writes Regency novels. Kristi is known for her bestselling “Hawthorne House” and “Haven Manor” series of novels. Apart from her writing, she is also a teacher and speaker on spiritual and Biblical topics. In this regard, she has spoken to many young women’s groups in churches, schools, and writers’ groups. She went to Georgia Tech from where she graduated with a degree in computer science and you can sometimes find her fiddling with computers. Kristi wanted to become an author from a very young age given that she was an avid reader and lover of storytelling. Despite her computer science degree, she always knew that she was born to write and as soon as she published “A Lady of Esteem” there was no turning back. For her fiction, she has won several awards that include the ACFW Genesis contest, The Award for Excellence form the Georgia Romance Writers, and a Romance Writers of America Golden Heart Award. She runs the Regency Reflections blog that she cofounded and is also actively involved with American Christian Fiction Writers, Georgia Romance Writers and the Beau Monde Regency chapter of the Romance Writers of America. When she is not writing, Kristi loves spending time at church, with family playing cards, strategy, and board games, binge-watching cheesy RomComs, fantasy, and Teeny bopper movies, drinking chocolate and listening to music. She currently lives with her husband and children in Georgia.

Kristi Hunter knew from very early on that she wanted to become an author. When she was in elementary school, her school invited a well-known author to give a talk to the children. The author said that one of their school readers was something he started writing as an English class project. As a kid, Kristi thought that if the author wrote his book while in the fourth grade why not her. However, it was not until she was in college that she finally started thinking of actually writing her novel. During this time, she was reading a lot of fiction but had not decided what direction to take when it came to writing. One of her best friends that read a lot of Christian fiction recommended the novel “To Win Her Heart” by Kate Witemeyer and she was hooked. What made the recommendation so intriguing was that her friend was not a Christian, had no religious affiliation and did not attend church yet had read the novel three times. Struck by the wonderful and relatable characters Kristi knew that she had found her genre. It was not long before she wrote the prequel to the “Hawthorne House” series “A Lady of Esteem.”

Kristi was inspired to write the debut novel of the Hawthorne series “A Noble Masquerade” as she thinks that everyone has restrictions and masks that they wear depending on who they are interacting with. Sometimes people do find that the limits they place on themselves become confining and abrasive prisons even when they are self-made. This is very evident when one finds themselves in a new group of people and struggles to find what role they are going to play or how to present themselves. It is through “A Noble Masquerade” that she explores these ideas though the heroine who meets the hero in two dissimilar circumstances. Both of them present dissimilar versions of themselves, which make for quite interesting situations. It is from the different experiences that they come to understand each other and Kristi believes this is something that is beneficial in all human relationships.

Kristi Ann Hunter’s “A Noble Masquerade” introduces Lady Miranda Hawthorne who knows what it is to be a lady but deep inside all she wants is to be bold and carefree. She is in her fourth season and in the society she lives in she is about to become a spinster. She has heard the whispers but she holds her head high in public only confiding and pouring her heart to her brother’s old school friend in letters she never sends. She had only heard of the duke from her brother but had never met him. In the meantime, she finds her brother’s new valet, Marlow quite intriguing but falling in love with a lowly servant is too much of a rebellion than even she had contemplated. But the valet stumbles upon one of her letters and sends them to the intended but unwitting confidant. Miranda is mortified when she hears of it but the duke is very interested in her and so starts a mail courtship. With so few suitors in her life up to that point, she is confused by her feelings for the two men – one whose words deeply resonate and another that she has never met. Just who will she choose?

“An Elegant Façade” is the story of Lady Georgina Hawthorne who has a lifelong secret that complicates her search for a marriage partner. It is a secret that not even her close friends or family are aware of and hence she needs a man that will not blab about it. She has so far been unsuccessful in her quest until she meets a successful but untitled friend of her brother in law, Colin McCrae. Georgina is a conceited woman but once Colin sees her he is taken in by her beauty. No one had ever dared try to get beneath the icy emotional veneer that Georgina had always portrayed. But she is utterly dismayed when a voice in her head whispers to her “You are safe” whenever she is with the Scottish businessman. The two cross paths often but on most days Colin does not want to like the conceited Hawthorne but he just cannot help the growing attraction. She has always had impossible standards and McCrae definitely does not meet them but he does not seem to care as he thinks them foolish. Slowly but surely he is transforming her into an elegant façade as the icy veneer fades in the warmth of tender romance.

“An Uncommon Courtship” by Kristi Ann Hunter is the story of Lady Adelaide Bell known for her unassuming and quiet beauty. Given her disposition, she has managed to keep a low profile while her mother works to showcase her more accomplished and elder sister’s attributes to titled and rich husbands. But Adelaide has a love for gathering mushrooms and during one of her ventures outside she meets Trent Hawthorne the carefree, and handsome brother of the Duke next door. Her mother does everything to ensure they get married though Lord Trent Hawthorne does not know what to do with a wife since he was not yet ready. Trent had a dream of marrying the love of his life but then God had somehow made it so that he married the lonely but lovely Adelaide. She is a virtual stranger but as he clumsily navigates the relationship he improvises and his plan to court his wife surprises everyone including Adelaide. It is an endearing and entertaining story of the blossoming of love.
