This is where we first meet the main character of Karl Alberg, who is a RCMP Staff Sergeant. It also features the female lead character of Cassandra Mitchell, a warm librarian by trade.

When a crime happens in a sleepy town, everyone who lives there is shocked. Perhaps the most shocked of all is George Wilcox, who never expected that he would become a murderer. George is eight years old and never expected the peak of his golden years to culminate with killing someone. It all happened before he knew it and it was the easiest thing in the world.

This crime is nearly perfect, even though it is quickly enveloping George in a snug blanket of guilt and secrets. This town on the Sunshine Coast, located in a quiet area of British Columbia, is the last place that you would expect anything dark to go down. This one act has a town stirred up and the citizens greatly concerned over whether they will be next.

Staff Sergeant Alberg has no idea that he is the romantic interest of Cassandra Mitchell. Cassandra is the town librarian, and you could not find a more warm and kind person. As the two somehow get caught up in one of the biggest cases to ever hit this town, they must try to figure out not only what their feelings are for each other, but who the killer hiding in this sleepy town could be.

Can the dynamic duo do their best to track down the killer and bring the person responsible for this death to justice? You’re going to have to pick up The Suspect from mystery writer L.R. Wright to find out for yourself for sure!

Sleep While I Sing is the exciting sequel to The Suspect, the debut novel in L.R. Wright’s Alberg series! In the first book, a sleepy town is awakened when a killer takes his first victim. Was it compulsive, or do they have control over what they do? No one knows for certain.

This provincial town sees yet another mystery pop up in its midst with the release of Sing! This thrilling sequel finds the reader seeing a new face appear in town. No one knew who the beautiful blonde was. There she appeared, standing in the rain and leaning against a tree. She was totally out of place for a small town like this, that was for sure.

However, the town soon finds out that this attractive woman is dead– even though her face is clean and every hair in place, her throat is totally slashed and she has clearly been placed there. But to what point and purpose?

As it turns out, no one seems to know anything about her murder in Sechelt. It’s up to Karl Alberg, the local Staff Sergeant, to take this case on and crack it wide-open like an egg. He’s going to have to start from the bottom and work his way up with the leads that he gets.

Not helping anything is his latest distraction; the beautiful Cassandra. This town librarian and the sergeant have been having a relationship that is off and on. Karl is a little frustrated because he has competition in the form of a handsome actor that’s in town. Can Karl focus long enough to find the killer– and win his crush over? Read this book to find out!
