Lana Axe is an American author of fiction. She was born in the United States in the state of Missouri. She resides in the country with her pet cats, dogs, reptiles, and birds. When she is not busy hanging out and enjoying time in the beauty of nature, she can be found spending time with her pets, or writing her novels, she spends a lot of her free time thinking about magic, as well as things like elves and fantastical lands.

Lana has always been interested in reading and went on to study literature in college. She first became a published author with the release of her full-length novel of fiction in 2013. It was titled A Story of River. She followed that up with another and another, and has since then released several full length novels, much to the delight of her readers.

She is the author of the Clockwork Calico series. The series kicked off in 2016 with the release of the debut novel, The Golden Owl. It was followed by the sequel, The Enchanted Obelisk. Axe made it a trilogy with the release of the third book in the Calico series in 2016, which was titled The Airship Race.

The Golden Owl is the debut novel in Lana Axe’s acclaimed Clockwork Calico series. The main character in this book is Calico Cogg. Calico is a cat that is a little bit different from your average cat. She is a feline that has been taken to the next level and as a result, doesn’t resemble any cat that you would see on the streets these days once you look a little bit closer.

Calico was first rescued by Lionel Cogg. Before that she was homeless and was living on the streets in Ticswyk, doing what she could to get by. Lionel saved her and he also happens to be an extremely talented inventor in addition to being a rescuer of pets. Lionel has fitted the cat with implants that are designed to enhance abilities that are already there thanks to her feline DNA.

When the inventor is suddenly kidnapped, Calico Cogg must leap into action. This gifted kitty simply cannot stand aside and do nothing while Lionel could be in danger. Calico has the skill and brainpower that it takes to try and get the inventor back, but will the cat find out that she is up against more than she originally bargained for?

Calico must do what she can to try and get him back. Meanwhile, schemes and plans are starting to come into play and the cat and Lionel have no idea about them at all. It seems that a group of clockwork spiders small enough to nearly be invisible are set loose on the people of the city. The cat and her mouse friend named Emmit must do what they can to try and figure out what is going on and how they can stop it.

Now Calico must find the inventor and figure out what a criminal mastermind is up to at last. The cat is in a race against the clock to track down multiple people and find out how to stop a villain from getting away with the greatest treasure the city has ever seen in the process. What will happen? You’ve got to pick up this exciting debut novel in the Clockwork Calico series by Lana Axe to find out!

The Enchanted Obelisk is the second book in Lana Axe’s acclaimed Clockwork Calico series. If you loved the first book in this fun story about a cat that is unlike any other feline you’ve met, then you most likely will enjoy the second installment too! This is a great book for grade school and middle school kids or a parent to read to their child as well.

As you know if you’ve read the first book or the above description, Calico is not your ordinary kitty. She’s more like a cat that has been taken to the next level thanks to the help of the inventor Lionel. The cat was just working overtime on the last case, which involved Lionel being abducted. Now the above-average kitty is about to have a whole lot more on her plate than she ever anticipated.

It all starts when an exhibit arrives to the museum in Ticswyk. Crates of Egyptian artifacts arrive and are going to be part of the latest exhibit. The artifacts were discovered by Carter Porchester, a known Egyptologist. Everyone in town is talking about it, with tourists coming to the city to look at the valuable and rare collection.

Porchester even gives a few people a special tour, and that includes Cali the calico cat. She gets to view the artifacts that will be part of the exhibit before it is opened to the public, a special treat. People are even coming in from all over to see the collection before it moves on, and so the interest is starting to spread and the exhibit becomes more of an attraction by the day as attendance and word of the exhibit starts to spread.

Even though the Egypt exhibit is drawing huge crowds, odd things are also starting to happen. For example, there’s a large obelisk in the courtyard of the museum that has started lighting up the area in varying colors– every color possible, and no one knows what’s causing it.

Without any real explanation for the cause of the events, rumors start to circulate that it is the magic of the Egyptians, a sign that they are reaching out from history. There are also rumors spreading of something even more unusual; a mummy that has come out of the tomb and is now roaming up and down the streets in the dark.

The people in town are starting to get a bit scared. While the humans may be afraid, Calico the cat is not! She is going to team up with her best friend Emmit the mouse to find out just what is going on and who– or what– is causing these things to happen. Can they figure it out? You are going to have to pick up this fun second installment in Lana Axe’s fictional series for kids (and adults) to find out for certain!
