Lauren Willig is a New York Times and award-winning bestselling author of fictional historical novels, her work focus on early romances and it has earned her spot among bestselling authers.

Born on 28 March of 1977, Willig discovered historical romance fiction at the age of six while searching for her favorite book from her idol Eleanor of Aquitaine.

She attended The Chapin School and later joined Yale University where she majored in political science and Renaissance studies.

Willig leadership role began when she became the chair of Tory party, with all the responsibility of the Yale political union on her hand; she squeezed her time to read more of Shakespeare.

Lauren interest in writing grew stronger where she combined her ideas to write sonnet sequences in between her studies,

Her surrounding influenced her first projects; living in Gothic fortress completed with gargoyles and leaded windows.

Not having enough of education, Lauren Willig joined Cambridge to add a degree in English history, the campus opens up doors to her calling where she was able to access more work from British Library,

She read a lot of British Chick lit; she did not give up even after presenting her first craft to a publishing firm where she did not receive positive feedback.

Her journey through her life opened up doors for new creative thinking, with hours or research on the real life and creating a character that reflect Napoleon era to relate entirely to this generation.

Trying to discover herself, Willig joined a law firm in New York while writing her book series, The Pink Carnation.

Willig decided to perfect her Curriculum Vitae, went on and entered Harvard Law School where she studied Modern European History.

It was during her first month in law school that Willig signed her first book contract and the same year finished writing her first series book, The Pink Carnation.

While at law school, Lauren Willig pushed herself to write more books including the “Black Tulip” and later “Emerald Ring.”

The litigation work at the law firm did not go well with her passion for writing; Lauren quit the law-promising career to focus on other things,

She branched into other project including teaching, “reading the Regency Romance” at Yale University.

This new venture brushed her “Writerdom” as she was able to surround herself with thing that relate to her passion,

The venture saw the born and rise of Regency romance sub-Genre that was a modern permutation including Regency vampire, wallpaper historical,and Austen inspired chick lit.
