Early and Personal Life

Growing up with a very strong passion for the written word, Leona Windwalker held a keen interest in all things literature from an early age. Whether it was suspense or action, or romantic fantasies, she would always find herself lost within them, taking inspiration for writing her own stories. Developing her voice as an author, she’d also be inspired by the world around her, putting much of it back into her writing.

A strong champion of human rights, this would also become a key feature reflected within her work and unique sense of storytelling. Constantly reading and writing herself, she’s always on the lookout for her next big exciting idea to write about and publish. Continuing to write to this very day, she also looks after her children, with more books planned for publication in the near future.

Writing Career

Many of the books that Leona Windwalker publishes are romance novels with LGBT friendly themes within them. Writing for quite some time now, she’s published many books and ongoing series, with many of them being thematically connected to one another. Included in these are the ‘Urban Wolves’ novels, the ‘Mate of Mylos’ series, ‘New Beginnings,’ ‘First Contact,’ and ‘The Talani Trade Alliance.’

Once with the Army and now a veteran, Leona largely writes fantasy romance driven novels, but many also reflect her own life and experiences. Leona Windwalker has also always been a staunch defender of environmental causes, something which is also often reflected within her work. Ben’s Beginning

Originally coming out in 2015 on the 30th of April, this would be the second book in the ‘New Beginnings’ series of novels. Continuing on directly from the previous novel ‘Sol’s Solstice’ released in 2014, along with the ‘Sunsets at Sea’ novella released earlier in 2015, this book carries on the story. Capturing what made the original books work so well, it would provide lots for fans of the series to enjoy, as well as fans of the genre as a whole.

Dealing with the guilt of his identical twin brother Sol being kidnapped, Ben is seeking counselling in an attempt to overcome the trauma. Wanting to make amends with both his foster parents, Sol, and Seth, he sounds meets with Marty at the local Crab Derby, finding Marty to be funny and attractive. Then Ben realizes Marty is male and gender-fluid instead of female as he’d initially thought, leading to him asking himself some deeper questions. Will he be able to answer them, what will become of their relationship, and can they both share a life together after Ben’s beginning?

It’s a fun and interesting novel with a lot of heart to it, as the story will brings both its characters and its world to life. While it does continue on from the previous book it does feature its own self-contained narrative, but it’s best read in order. Many of the elements of the previous novel are brought over, so readers should read them both together in order to gain the most from the series.

Gingerbread Spiced Daddy

First arriving in 2020 on the 19th of November, this would be the first book in the ‘Elves After Dark’ series of novels. Other books in the series would be written by other writers, such as Sophie E. Russell, Emily Alter, and Morgan Mason, to name just a few. The story itself is entirely self-contained and can be read as a stand-alone, although it is set in the same fantasy world as the other books.

In a world where Santa is real and so are his elves, Bauble is one worker who has been assigned to working in the general labor pool after messing up in every position at the Pole. Serving as a candy cane patrol monitor in the human world, he’s been stationed at a shopping mall, and after feeling lonely for the holiday season he sees his ideal man. Taking his niece Laurette to meet Santa at the mall, Cliff soon spies Bauble watching him, and the two of them soon share a chemistry. How will the relationship between Cliff and Bauble fare, can they find love with one another, and what shall become of the gingerbread spiced daddy?

It’s an inventive engaging novel that has a real sense of wit to it, combining fantasy and romance to excellent effect. Not taking itself too seriously, it makes sure to entertain the reader every step of the way, making for some excellent seasonal reading. All of the characters resonate, as Windwalker pays close attention to detail, really managing to deliver on every single level.
