The Merry Wrath series written by author Leslie Langtry is comprised of 8 books in total, which were released between the years 2014 and 2017. Every book of this series features the chief protagonist in the role of Merry Wrath. Author Langtry has depicted Merry Wrath a former CIA agent and a current Leader of Girl Scout living in Iowa. The settings of all the books is done in Iowa. The debut book of this series is entitled ‘Merit Badge Murder’. It was released by the Createspace Independent publication in the year 2014. At the start of the book’s story, it is shown that Merry Wrath works as an agent for the CIA in Washington, D.C. She gets framed in a conspiracy and is outted from the agency. After being forced into taking an early retirement, Merry Wrath changes her lifestyle and her appearance completely. She moves to Iowa with the hope that no one else from her previous life is able to find her.

Once settling down in Iowa, Merry Wrath starts working for a troop of Girl Scout. She doesn’t expect any complexities in her life and thinks of spending the rest of her life in a simple way. However, a sudden turn of events causes Merry Wrath to try and unravel a mystery. She learns that an enemy agent has been found dead in her scout camp. Merry fears this could affect her future life badly, so she is forced to return to her previous life and deal with the matter. When Merry learns that the CIA has sent her former handsome handler for investigating the case, she knows things are going to get worse. She also comes to know that newly arrived hot neighbor on the other side of the street is a local detective and has been given the charge of this case. Things go on to become even trickier when Merry Wrath ends up taking on one of her roommates on the suspicion of being a KGB agent. Merry Wrath knows it very well that if she wishes to get out of this mess safely, then she will have to look out of the book. And for this purpose, the training from the manuals of Girl Scout or CIA is not going to be enough. Merry decides to take on this case on her own and end this chapter once and for all.

Another exciting novel of this series is called ‘Marshmallow S’More Murder’. It was also published by Createspace Independent in 2015. Once again, Langtry has shown Merry Wrath in the lead role along with some other important characters like Rily, Mrs. Czrgy, Rex Ferguson, Midori Ito, etc. Langtry has again set the story in Washington, DC; and Iowa. At the beginning of the story of the book, it is depicted that Merry Wrath plans to take 12 little scout girls on a trip to Washington DC. She looks forward to a joyful trip and hopes the girls will also enjoy the summer fun. But, some unfortunate things happen on the trip and Merry has to come forward and sort them out. Her girls end up destroying the pool in the hotel as well as terrorizing Secret Service.

While on the visit, Merry learns about the kidnapping of Riley, her sexy ex-handler. She decides to rescue Riley as he used to be her boyfriend at one time. Merry takes the help of an old friend and some other trustworthy people to know everything in minute detail about Riley’s kidnapping. Merry already has her hands full with a number of issues, but considers the current situation as the most important one to deal with. She has a current boyfriend in the form of a detective named Rex Ferguson and doesn’t want things to go wayward between them because of her decision of saving rescuing Riley. Things do start heat up a little bit between Rex and Merry, but Merry handles the situation very well and gets Rex to join her in her attempt to find the trail of Riley. As there is not much time left with her, Merry Wrath tries to decipher the clues that could lead her to Riley and also solve Midori Ito’s murder case as soon as possible, or else she fears it will be too late to do anything to save Riley.

   I am addicted to your Merry Wrath series!!!!!! I love murder mysteries but sometimes they get a little “in depth “. Your Iowa Girls Scout leader (and company) is a refreshing oasis for me. There is still a murder to solve but not as much blood and guts. Please keep Merry and the girls solving crimes for a long time!!!!!!!
