Her books have been listed on the USA Today bestseller list on multiple occasions. Martin is particularly famous for writing her two-book series, the Texas Nights series and the Dearest series.

Additionally, she has penned several single novels in her career and has collaborated with author Leslie McAdam on more than one occasion in that regard. Martin is also a contributor to the series called Top Shelf Romance. She worked in collaboration with Kennedy Ryan and Kennedy Fox to write the series’ seventh book, Keep My Heart.

A popular novel series written by author Lex Martin is known as the Dearest series. It began in 2014 and consists of romance stories featuring different sets of central characters. Some of the lead characters created by Martin for the series include Gavin Murphy, Clementine Avery, Dani Hart, Jax Avery, Madeline McDermott, Daren Sloan, etc. Martin has set the stories mostly in Boston with some of the scenes taking place in other parts of the US as well.

The debut book of this series is entitled ‘Dearest Clementine’. It was self-published by the author in 2014. Initially, Clementine Avery is introduced as a 21-year-old college girl. She is often called closed off and bitchy, but she doesn’t care about it at all.

Clementine thinks it is safe for her to be on her own and having no man in her life, especially after facing heartbreak at the hands of her sweetheart from high school and being stalked by an old professor in the freshman year of college. For Clementine, being alone is quite safe and it sounds quite good for her. She has made several important rules for survival and not indulging in dating is the number one and most important one.

However, things begin to change as soon as she signs up for a class on romance writing. While looking for material for one of her assignments, Clementine ends up coming across a sexy RA named Gavin Murphy. When Gavin learns that Clementine is looking for a handsome man to play the part of her book boyfriend, he seems more than happy to make himself available. He likes to think he is doing good for her by helping her find some inspiration, but at the back of his mind, Gavin knows that he wants to make out with her.

Of course, Gavin does it by labeling it as research. Later, both of them realize that they have developed feelings for one another and grow closer. The path moving forward with their love affair becomes difficult when they get stuck in the mystery of the disappearance of a student from Boston University.

The second installment of this series is called ‘Finding Dandelion’. It was also released in 2014 as a self-publication. This book opens with the introduction of Jax Avery as a soccer all-star. He meets Dani Hart during his 21st birthday celebration and develops an instant connection with her. It has happened after years that he has come across a girl and doesn’t just want to sleep with her.

Jax wishes to have Dani in his life forever. But, Dani thinks that it is best for her to stay away from a player like him as they often indulge in one-night stands and go away. Their second meeting happens after some time and Jax doesn’t recognize her, which doesn’t shock Dani much. However, what shocks her is the fact that Jax is the brother of her new roommate.

Dani and Jax’s sister often talked about his type of girl and she doesn’t want to feel embarrassed to admit that to her that she has spent a night with him. For Jax, there have been quite difficulties going on with respect to keeping his place in the soccer team intact. He cannot afford another controversy.

Jax’s friend tells him to forget Dani and focus on his game, but he seems to be worried only about her. He doesn’t mind breaking the rules laid down by him to get close to the girl he has developed strong feelings for. Neither of them realizes that there are other forces at work that can spoil their dreams and destroy their lives forever. After a point, Jax does not worry about the soccer team at all and just wants to prevent Dani from walking away forever.
