The Lexi Carmichael Mystery book series is an exciting series of romantic suspense, mystery, chick lit, thriller, and women’s fiction novels. It consists of 11 novels and 1 novella published between 2010 and 2018. The 11th novel, No Stone Unturned, is expected to be released at the beginning of 2019. This series is written by an award winning and bestselling American writer named Julie Moffett. The series features its lead protagonist in the role of a former computer geek and a current employee at National Security Agency named Lexi Carmichael. She is depicted as spending her days in stopping hackers from getting through into the NSA database. Lexi Charmichael spend her nights trying to avoid her mother, who always forces her to eat cereal. When Lexi Carmichael got the offer to work for NSA, she thought she will be involved in exciting car chases, adrenaline rush adventures, and interesting detective works. But, all she gets to do is sit back at her desk and prevent hackers from getting past the security firewall of the top secret agency. She seems to have become bored of doing this kind of work. Suddenly, the excitement comes rushing in Lexi Carmichael’s life when she learns about the disappearance of her best friend and gets involved in trying to locate her with the assistance of some close aides.

Over the course of her numerous attempts at solving the mysteries, Lexi Carmichael comes across various people of interest, such as a rich and handsome lawyer, a sexy undercover agent, excellent computer hackers, etc. All of a sudden, her supposedly boring life turns into an exciting, fun-filled, adventurous, and extraordinary one. Besides Lexi Carmichael, the other exciting characters created by Julie Moffett for the books of this series include Slash, Finn, Zimmerman Twins, and Basia Kowalski. In addition to these important characters, the books show many others who help to carry the stories forwards and make them interesting for the readers to read and enjoy. Right from its very first book, the series has been enjoyed by the readers a lot. People from all across the globe have appreciated the stories very much and have praised Julie Moffett for coming up with such interesting mysteries and characters. They are now waiting eagerly for the release of the series’ latest book in 2019.

The descriptions of the main characters given by Moffett are as follows: Lexi Carmichael is a 25 year old geek. She was excellent at maths as a child and grows up to become a computer techie. Lexi gets employed by NSA for her extraordinary skills at hacking. Because of her rather less brilliant social skills and ordinary looks, her mother seems disappointed with her. Lexi’s mother is gorgeous and is an ex-Miss Virginia. The biggest thrills that Lexi Carmichael has in life include fulfilling her craving for the Dunkin ‘ Donots and doing crossword puzzles in Washington Post daily. Slash is described as a sexy agent/underhacker working for the government. He poses as a great asset to the national security of America and for this reason he is always protected by a dedicated FBI agents’ team. The real name of Slash is not known to anyone. Slash admits to the fact that he was born to Italian parents. Later in the series, Lexi Carmichael discovers that Slash has numerous hidden talents. Because of his darkly sensual, smoldering personality, and a high finesse in hacking, Lexi Carmichael finds herself attracted to Slash. He too seems fascinated by Lexi.

Finn is mentioned as a good-looking lawyer. He has emerald-green eyes, sexy Irish accent, and a fine body. Lexi finds Finn’s personality very tempting and attractive. And the fact that he is extremely rich makes her crave for his love even more. Lexi comes in contact with Finn while trying to look for her disappeared friend Basia. She thinks of taking his help in finding her, but Finn seems to be interested in seducing her. The Zimmerman twins, Xavier and Elvis, are depicted as the closest friends of Lexi Carmichael. The genius twins have very high IQ levels. They are responsible for helping the U.S. government is setting up the most sensitive networks of computer in the country, including the NSA. Now, they work to protect the networks from hackers. The twins are employed with a big private company and are multi-millionaires. In spite of having everything in life, Elvis & Xavier miss the subtle joys of life. Xavier has a crush on Basia Kowalski. He suggests Elvis that he should go for Lexi as he thinks they are made for each other. Basia Kowalski and Lexi Carmichael are best friends. They were together since their days at the Georgetown University. Basia is gorgeous, knows more than 12 languages, loves shopping, and is a happy-go-lucky girl. She runs a freelance business of translation and works with Berlitz on a part-time basis.

An intriguing mystery book of the Lexi Carmichael Mystery series written by author Julie Moffett is entitled ‘No One to Trust’. The Carine Press published this book in 2011. It features the central characters as Finn Shaughnessy, Lexi Carmichael, Darren Greening, and a few others. In the starting plot, Lexi Carmichael is seen as leaving her government job at NSA behind and going to join a private company owned by the handsome Finn Shaughnessy. She knows she does not have the looks for her sexy boss, but feels proud to know that he is interested in her. Lexi prays that things don’t get complicated between them. She learns that Darren Greening, the researcher of Flow Technologies, has gone missing. Because of Lexi’s history with the NSA, the bosses at Flow Technologies think that she is involved in Darren Greening’s disappearance. As this company is the first client of her new company and too important to let go, Lexi sets out to find Darren Greening and remove this blame from her head. Soon, she realizes that this is not just a simple case of kidnapping and there are many dangers lying ahead. Nevertheless, she prepares to use all her geek skills and overcome the complexities to solve the mystery once and for all.

Another interesting novel written by Moffett in this series is called ‘No Living Soul’. It was also released by Carine Press in 2017. This book’s story begins by showing that Lexi Carmichael travels to Egypt along with Elvis Zimmerman and Slash to track down the estranged and missing father of Elvis. After the initial investigation, they come to know that Elvis’ father was after an elusive and ancient artifact. And this artifact is believed to be so valuable that people are ready to kill for it. So, Lexi’s search for Elvis Zimmerman’s missing father turns into a search for the artifact also. She ends up looking into tombs, scarabs, codes, and tablets. In the process, Lexi Carmichael and her team discover clues that were hidden for a millennia. Lexi wonders how she is going to crack a code developed 15 hundred years before written language was invented. Elvis’ father fears if the wrong people get the possession of the artifact, it can lead to huge losses. Lexi tries everything in her capacity to find & safeguard the secret and prevent it from landing in the wrong hands.
