Libby Fischer Hellmann is a well established author from the United States, who likes to write mystery, crime fiction, and thriller novels. She is particularly well known for writing the Ellie Foreman series and the Georgia Davis book series. Author Libby currently lives in Chicago, Illinois. Almost all of her stories and novels take place in Chicago. The Chicago Sun Times has said that Libby was brought up in Washington D.C. However, she has adopted a home in Chicago and stays there. Author Libby has achieved a critical acclaim for her strong female characters and readable thrillers, and is loved by numerous readers all over the world. The crime fiction career of Libby is comprised of 14 novels and more than 20 short stories. Libby even edited a famous anthology of crime fiction known as Chicago Blues. Her latest work, ‘War, Spies and Bobby Sox’, has won the Ippy Silver Award in the military/war category. The critics have described her work as meticulously researched and masterful. Several other critics believe that Libby’s richly varied and thrilling crime books were definitely going to win numerous prestigious awards, and no one questioned their success when they actually won the awards. Author Libby is believed to be committed to her writing work quite exceptionally. During 2005-2006, she served as Sisters in Crime’s national president. This organization has more than 3,400 members and is dedicated towards strengthening female mystery writers’ voices.

Prior to the beginning of her writing career, author Libby used to work in news broadcasting. She joined the NBC News as an assistant editor in New York. Later, Libby moved to Washington for working with Jim Lehrer and Robin MacNeil at N-PACT, which is a branch of PBS that looks after the production of public affairs. Libby joined as an assistant director. At the time of the breakout of the Watergate, she helped the channel in producing the hearings’ night time broadcast. Later, Libby worked for a public relations firm called Burson-Marsteller. She stayed there from 1978 up to the time she started Fisher Hellmann Communications in the year 1985. Author Libby originally hails from Washington. She obtained her Master’s Degree in the field of Film Production from the University of New York. Libby also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Pennsylvania University in the subject if History. Along with writing novels, author Libby is also interested in producing and writing videos as well as conducting the programs of speaker training in media training, platform speaking, crisis communications, and presentation skills. The bestselling novels of author Libby have wide acclaim. The very first book written by her, An Eye for Murder, was nominated for various and it is described by the publisher’s Weekly as an excellent blend of history, suspense, and politics. This book introduced the character of Ellie Foreman, who is depicted as a single mother and a producer of videos. This character is seen in a total of 6 books. Libby says that the series featuring Ellie Foreman is a cross between 24 and Desperate Housewives. The second series of author Libby follows the activities of the Chicago Private Investigator named Georgia Davis. This no nonsense detective has made appearances in 4 books so far. Along with her widely famous series, the author has also written 4 standalone thriller novels that have historical periods and diverse settings. Her Revolution Trilogy features young activists at the time of the 1960s in America along with a young woman and a lady Mafia boss.

The Georgia Davis series written by Libby Fischer Hellmann consists of a total of 4 books, which were released between the years 2002 and 2014. All the books of this series feature the chief protagonist in the form of Georgia Davis. She is an ex-cop and a newly appointed private investigator living in Chicago. The debut novel of the series is entitled ‘Easy Innocence’. It was released by the Bleak House publication in the year 2002. At the start of the story of the book, it is shown that a smart and pretty girl is found dead with wounds all over her body. It looked obvious that the man who had the bat was to be blamed for the murder. Georgia Davis, the new private investigator in town, is asked to look into the matter after the sister of the accused requests her to save her brother, saying that he is innocent. When Georgia Davis begins the investigation, she finds something that makes her think that the real story of this murder case is something very different and has a darker answer. Georgia comes to know that the preppy and privileged schoolgirls living on the North Shore of Chicago have learned about the worth of their innocence to the rich businessmen of the town. However, what the girls are not able to see is that while they are able to pay for their Prada pricetags, their new venture may cost them much more than they can pay.

The next book of this series is called ‘Doubleback’. This book was also published by Bleak House publishers in the year 2009. Author Libby has mentioned the chief characters in this book as Molly Messenger, Chris Messenger, Georgia Davis, etc. At the beginning of this book’s story, it is depicted that a small girl named Molly Messenger gets abducted on a sunny morning in June. Three days after her kidnapping, she is sent home by the kidnappers without causing any harm to her. The mother of Molly, Chris Messenger feels grateful that her daughter has come safe and sound. However, Molly is behaving in a somewhat odd way and Chris tends to overlook everything else as her joy knows no bounds in having Molly back at home. After several days of this incident, the brakes of Chris Messenger’s car go out and she encounters a brutal accident that eventually ends up in her death. The police think that it was just a normal accident on the highway. Chris Messenger used to work at a large bank in Chicago as its IT manager. It turns out that she might have been involved in committing a fraud of 3 million dollars at her bank by misappropriating funds. Molly’s father suspects that after the killing of his wife, there is a danger to the life of his daughter and therefore, he hires Georgia Davis to investigate about the money fraud and locate the money. He also asks her to help him find out who killed his wife and who are the other involved in the fraud.
