Lindsey Kelk is a British award winning and bestselling author that was born in Doncaster, lived in Nottingham and London, before moving to the New York and Los Angeles in the States. So far, she has more than thirteen novels in the “I Heart series”, two e-novellas, “A Girl” series, and several freestanding novels. Her novels have been so popular that they have been published in more than twenty languages across the globe, and gone on to sol more than a million copies. She spends much of her time researching and writing her novels. Given that she still loves to write nonfiction, she still writes movie tie-ins, ghostwrites for brands, and does some journalism. When she is not writing she loves to watch the WWE, drink Elderflower cocktails and gin, and shop, judge, and wear shoes. She also loves to read novels, especially the Donna Tartt books. She currently lives in Los Angeles California with her cats.

Lindsey Kelk has always loved reading ever since she was a little girl, and would get lost in a book, and started writing her own stories as a kid. Nevertheless, she never thought of ever becoming an author until she sold her first novel “I Heart New York” to Harper Collins. She wrote the first novel just so that she could prove to herself that she could, and was happily surprised when it got accepted for publishing. Once she got that first novel published, the love for writing that had dominated her childhood came back and she never looked back since. Her life at that point was in a miserable rut with a ton of debt and a terrible relationship, and hence writing offered an escape. Before she got into a full time writing career she had always been writing in one capacity or another. Her first job had been in PR, which provided her with the discipline to tailor her writing to specific audiences. She then got a job with a children’s publisher and edited children’s and general works for more than six years. This period provided her with a lot of writing experience and understanding of the publishing business, which made it easier for her to get started. Her path to publishing was circuitous as she got the usual rejection letters, before one agent who she had never heard of contacted her. The agent had seen her manuscript form his friends and wanted her to change her name and work on something different. Even though she rejected the offer, the agent recommended her to one of his friends at HarperCollins, who signed her up to a three-book deal.

The I Heart novels are delightful chic lit works featuring Angela Clark, the incorrigible protagonist. The series came about when Lindsey Kelk had just come back home from New York and was feeling miserable about her life. Isolated and lonely on Boxing Day, she sat up on her bed and put her unhappy relationship with her boyfriend, her lack of money, and terrible job onto paper. She was writing a “what if” fantasy novel, detailing what she would have loved her life to be. It was not long before she churned out her “I Heart New York” masterpiece. As soon as she got the novel published, she knew that she wanted to tell the world more about Angela and dove back in with another I Heart novel, “I Heart Hollywood”. As a teen that had been obsessed with the “Sweet Valley High” series of novels, the love for traveling to different cities and settings had always been strong and hence writing the I Heart series came to her naturally. The author, who has a lot in common with her chief protagonist, inspires the lead character in the series. Angel is a down to earth and fun character who has relationship problems, though unlike Kelk she tends to get all the boys. Nonetheless, despite her down to earth nature she has boundaries and does not hesitate to tell off people who try to mess with her. More often than not, she finds herself in bizarre situations due to her love for cocktails, shoes, boys, karaoke, and all the fine things in life.

“I Heart New York”, the debut novel of the I Heart series is a enchanting novel following the life of Angela Clark. Angela has just run away from what is arguably the worst wedding in the world, and has fallen in love with the most magnificent city on the globe – New York City. She had fled the wedding to her philandering boyfriend, and run to New York with nothing more than a passport, a pair of Louboutins, and a stolen and crumpled bridesmaid dress. She is now in a small but elegant hotel room in NYC where she meets up with Jenny. Jenny has never been a boring one and immediately proceeds to give her a whirlwind tour of New York. Before she can catch a breath, she has met and is dating two gorgeous men who she writes about in her brand new blog about her life. But telling readers you have never met about your life is different from figuring it out for yourself. Could she be in over her head in the big apple that she now calls home?

“I Heart Hollywood” is Lindsey Kelk’s second novel full of the verve and passion of the first now set in Hollywood. Angela Clark has moved to Hollywood, California to enjoy the sunshine celebrity lifestyle and sunshine of the Sunshine State where she just got a job. The English girl has a job with “The Look”, a hip magazine that has taken Hollywood by storm. To add spice to her new life she has a shiny and sexy brand new boyfriend. Even better, she gets to interview some of the hottest of actors such as James Jacobs a renowned British actor who sweeps her off her feet. But soon she discovers that the life in Hollywood is not all roses, sunshine, and glamour, as her boyfriend turns out to be not who he said he was. Despite James coming with a reputation for the ladies, he is the only man that seems to be genuine. She is warming up to the advances of her fellow Brit when a paparazzo gets a shot of them in an uncompromising position, throwing her life on a wrong tangent. She now has an uphill task convincing her boss that she is not involved with James. Could her dream be about to end just when it had hardly started?
