Author Lisa Childs’ love for reading and writing romance stories started at the age of eleven, when she read her first romance novel. It was a Harlequin romance and it made her only want to write romance novels.

She was born on Halloween, something that made her destined to write suspense novels. That and the fact that she was born soft spoken into a big and loud family; she figured out early on how to express herself with the written word.

For her, writing started when she first was able to form sentences and write them down (at first, she used crayon). The first things that she wrote were about the family dog and everything he did. That changed when she found the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew. At that point, writing mysteries became like drawing breath for her.

When she was only eleven years old, she won her first award for writing and the local newspaper interviewed her as a result. The plot of the story involved a kidnapping, probably something that wished on one of her six siblings.

She lives in the state of Michigan with a husband that gives her loving support in the form of more housecleaning duty and praise. They have two loving daughters that also have a love of the written word, like their mother does. During the day, she is a full time wife and mother and part time insurance agent. Then, as night falls, she becomes a writer, focused on telling stories that her readers might enjoy. Her work is form the genres of romance and suspense.

Childs is the author of many book series, some of which include: the “Witch Hunt” series, the “Special Agents at the Altar” series, the “Shotgun Weddings” series, the “Bachelor Bodyguards” series (which is apart of the “Shotgun Weddings” series), and “The Wedding Party” series.

“His Christmas Assignment” is the first novel in the “Bachelor Bodyguards” series and was released in the year 2015. Candace Baker believes that once someone is a bad boy, they will always be one. That is what she tells herself after she is scorned by Garek Kozminski, a fellow bodyguard at Payne Protection. He has returned both to his lawless ways and his old girlfriend. She is heartbroken and wants to send him to the place he belongs, which is jail.

Nobody, not even the sexy woman Candace, can have the knowledge that Garek is pretending to make a comeback as a criminal to take down a mobster. Curious about him, Candace almost ruins his cover; Garek must reveal to her the truth, and it risks both of their lives. The bodyguards must keep their enemies close to them and danger even closer.

Fans of the novel enjoy the way the ending of the book gives closure to the story and makes it seem as though things will get better for Milek, a man that has had a lot of tragedy in his life. Some liked how the author was able to work in the characters from the other series into this one. The book has strong storytelling and some tough characters, not to mention the chemistry that Candace and Garek have with one another. They really sizzle together.

“Bodyguard Daddy” is the second novel in the “Bachelor Bodyguards” series and was released in the year 2016. Milek Kozminski walked away from his now ex-fiance, named Amber Talsma, and it was just about the hardest thing he has ever done. That was nothing, though, compared to finding out that both she and her son (that Milek thought was his) died in a car wreck.

Amber is going to do anything she can to protect her child and keep him safe. That is why she had to fake their deaths; so she could stay away from the person that killed her boss and then came for her. Milek finds out about this and stops at nothing to protect both his son and the woman he has always loved.

Fans of the novel found that the suspense starts right from the beginning of the book; it does not let up for a single moment of the novel. Some enjoyed the way that Milek and Amber get a second chance at love here in this book. You ache for them in the book as you hope that they can have each other once again and have some happiness together. Lisa Childs does a great job of blending suspense and romance; she does a great job, in this book, of pairing a formidable and intriguing hero with a woman and having their romance be quite hot.

“Bodyguard’s Baby Surprise” is the third novel in the “Bachelor Bodyguards” series and was released in the year 2016. FBI Special Agent Nicholas Rus faces danger and threats all the time. When a woman he spent the night with, Annalise Huxton, finds herself being targeted Nick knows that he must do something drastic to help out. He would do anything to help her, and the baby bump that is something that he did not remember her having before.

Annalise has had feelings for Nick for quite a while, but that in no way means she trusts him. Sure he quit his job to be her own bodyguard, but he disappeared after they spent their night together. Their pursuers get even closer to them, and Annalise puts her guard down, allowing their feelings to come back to the surface. Nick has shown that he will keep the baby and her safe, but does one night of passion allow for a lifetime of happiness?

Fans found that they enjoyed the fast pace and suspense the novel has. It felt like they were on a roller coaster ride, just by reading the story. They could only imagine what it must be like if they were in the same situation that Annalise and Nick were in the novel. Once again, Lisa Childs delivers a winning novel, combining action with suspense and a nice romance thrown in. Some hope that Lisa Childs will continue writing these great book, because if she does, readers will read these as quickly as they come out.
