The “Lore Olympus” series is one of the most popular comic series on Webtoon written by Rachel Smythe. The author is a comic artist and folklorist from New Zealand that has become of the most successful webcomics from down south.

She started working as a designer and illustrator for “Lore Olympus” in 2018. However, this was not her first rodeo as she has been working online since 2002 when she began uploading her works on different web platforms.

As a sufferer of dyslexia, ADHD, and various anxiety disorders her achievement is even all the more remarkable.

Lore Olympus: Volume One first came out in 2021. Outside of her writing, she also attends comicons across the globe. She will also engage with her thousands of fans on Instagram and Twitter and often reposts dozens of artwork and cosplay.

When she is not writing webcomics she loves to do podcasts, draw cartoons, read folklore, and watch movies.

In her earlier years, Rachel Smythe attended college and graduated with a Computer Design and Graphics degree in 2007.

It was soon after graduation that she went on to become an author of comic pieces. She would become a freelance author and designer posting works sporadically until she published volume one of “Lore Olympus.”

The work would soon become a blockbuster title on Webtoon, as it got millions of fans all over the world. She also got a boost since there was already an audience for Webtoons that she could take advantage of.

Smythe also credits some of her success to the many colors and lighting styles she employs as a graphic designer to achieve spectacular atmospheres. As her writing evolved, she made use of several art styles, which has made her work even more dynamic.

She has asserted that growing up, all she wanted to be was a director but that never panned out. It was comics that would be her salvation as she now picks everything for her stories.

She is responsible for everything from the flow, the costumes of the characters the plots, and how the sets look, which makes her a director of some sort.

“Lore Olympus” is a romance comic that retells the ancient folklore of the romance between the Greek god Hades and Persephone the Greek goddess.

The latter is usually shown as a young pink woma,n given that she is the spring goddess. The 20-year-old Persephone has hair that sometimes sprouts or grows flowers depending on the type of emotion she is experiencing at a given time.

All she desires is to become an independent and self-sufficient goddess and thus she comes across as a naive, even if caring and kind individual.

Persephone was a member of The Goddesses of Eternal Maidenhood who are supposed to remain virgins for eternity. But Apollo the god of war had jeopardized her membership when he raped her a few days after she arrived in Olympus.

However, she has realized that she is a fertility goddess with some of the most incredible abilities in the realm.

On the other hand, is the king of the Underworld “Hades,” who is the older brother of Poseidon and Zeus. He usually shows up as a blue businessman with greying hair and a very scarred body.

Despite being the CEO of the corporation that is in charge of managing the dead in Underworld Corp, he seems to be the most sensitive of emo guys.

“Lore Olympus: Volume One” is the first of the “Lore Olympus” series that is a contemporary recreation of the classic kidnap of Persephone by Hades.
In this outing, Persephone is new in Olympus and is still very naive. Her overly protective mother had allowed her to go to Olympus when she got a scholarship.

However, she was admitted to the institute of the Goddesses of Eternal Motherhood. Under the rules of the scholarship, she will have to remain a virgin for eternity, or else they will take away the grant.

On her first night in Olympus, Artemis her host takes her to a party hosted by Zeus which is where she meets Hades. He is so taken by Persephone and asserts that her beauty exceeds that of Aphrodite.

When the latter hears of this assertion she flies into a rage and vows to teach the naive goddess a lesson. She goes on to get her drunk and imprisons her in Hades’s car. Hades rescues her from her temporary prison and takes her home so that she can recover from the ordeal.

She is confused and embarrassed to wake up in a strange house until Hades explains what happened. A few hours with Hades and Persephone is smitten. Neither Hades nor Persephone can get the other out of their mind and it is not for lack of trying.

The second novel of the “Lore: Olympus” series “Lore Olympus: Volume Two” explores what the gods usually do when it gets dark outside.

Persephone is in the process of readying herself for a new life in the celestial city when she leaves the mortal world when she learns that there is a dark side to her new home.

But that is not the only thing of concern as her reputation may be sullied by some bad gossip going around Olympus. She has also been threatened by Apollo and she cannot with everything thrown at her as it is coming too fast.

Meanwhile, Hades has been trying to fight his feelings for Persephone even though he still has responsibilities as CEO of the Underworld Corporation.
The closer Persephone and Hades grow, the more complicated things become as their past and present conspire to make things difficult for them.

“Lore Olympus: Volume Three,” the third novel of the “Lore Olympus” series opens with Olympus and the Underworld residents all talking about the romance between Hades and Demeter.

While there has been all manner of rumors saying they are together, they have yet managed to get their love affair on the road. Persephone has been having a hard time adapting, and her attraction to Hades has just managed to complicate things further.

After her run-in with Apollo, she can no longer keep to herself the heightened feelings of hurt and love she feels. Hades is coming to terms with her past, even as she contemplates her future.

With high expectations from family, friends, and all manner of enemies, will they be able to push through and fulfill their destiny.
