Lori Ryan is a New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author that primarily operates within the romantic suspense genre.

+Biography

Lori Ryan became a published author in 2013. Since then, she has gained an unquenchable love for the excitement and adventure of writing. Best known for the ‘Sutton Capital’ Series, Lori is a bit of a hybrid.

While many of the author’s books have been traditionally published by SIlverHart Publishing, Lori Ryan has also carved out a career for herself as a self-published author, thus making it possible for the author to maximize her visibility and reach.

When she isn’t producing smoldering suspense, Lori is creating coloring books for adults, an endeavor that has earned her as much applause as it has quizzical looks.

The author is pretty active online and uses platforms like Facebook and Twitter to connect with her fans. She also has a blog that she uses to share her thoughts on any subjects that elicit her interest.

The author always encourages readers that enjoy her books to leave a review wherever possible if only to help other potential fans find her work.

Lori Ryan calls Austin, Texas home. That is where she lives with her husband, three children, and two dogs. She admits that things can get chaotic around the house but she loves the activity.

+Literary Career

Lori Ryan’s journey to writing success began when she picked up her first romance novel. Even as a child, Lori was an avid reader of romance. And she knew she had a taste for writing and storytelling because she would read her favorite books and find herself imagining how she might have taken the plot and which twists she might have inserted into the story if she was the one driving things.

Lori eventually found that she was burdened with an abundance of stories; stories she kept telling herself and then storing in her head. And it never really occurred to her to remove that burden by putting her ideas on paper, organizing them into novels and sending them out for publication.

As with most other authors, normal life kept getting in her way. Lori Ryan attended the University of Connecticut Law School. She eventually graduated and spent three years working in the field of Utilities Law.

Writing did not come into the picture until the author got pregnant. After a few months, she found that she couldn’t do much physically. That gave her plenty of time to put her her legs up and read romance novels. The more romance novels she read, the more she wanted to write.

It didn’t take much convincing for her to finally give into the urge. Lori initially operated a dog training business in Austin. The business was purposed towards helping people with aggressive pets. The work was pretty fulfilling for the author who eventually became an expert in the arena of dog bite analysis.

However, Lori eventually sold the business, and by the time the writing bug struck her, she was truly ready to commit to writing. And ever since her first book was published in 2013, that is exactly what the author has done.

Lori Ryan likes to plot her stories out before she writes them. Most of the plotting happens in her head, though she will take the time to create a basic outline on some occasions.

It takes time for Lori to transition from the plotting stage to the writing stage. She spends a lot of time playing the scenes of her story out in her head over and over again until she is satisfied with the results.

Lori says that she knows she’s ready to write once she has the first few chapters perfectly plotted out in her head. Once she starts writing, she is open to being surprised and letting the story take unexpected turns.

Most of Lori’s energies are expended in the revision process. Once she has a first draft written, she gets her friend to skim it and then, using their feedback, refines her plot and the relevant chapters.

Lori endeavors to encourage every indie writer to invest in a professional editor. Lori Ryan believes that the indie publishing industry has a bad reputation because so many indie authors are unwilling to invest in professional editors and cover artists.

Lori’s hope is that the indie publishing industry will last forever because the platform provides opportunities for authors like her to take literary risks. Lori knows of so many authors who haven’t achieved their publishing dreams because they are waiting for traditional publishers to come knocking. She believes this to be a mistake in light of all the opportunities that indie publishing provides.

+Legal Ease

Kelly Bradley doesn’t believe in love. Kelly has dated many men over the years. However, she has never fallen in love with any of them. As such, she has decided that love simply isn’t in the cards for her.

So when she creates a plan to marry Jack Sutton, it is not with the intention of finding love. And she tells him as much when she proposes her idea of a marriage of convenience.

Jack Sutton is all about control. He expects everything to go his way and he will not abide people that send his world spinning out of control. But that is exactly what he gets with Kelly Bradley who ignites a passion in him he never thought possible.

Kelly wants a marriage of convenience but Jack wants a real marriage and he will stop at nothing to save the life and the heart of the woman he loves.

+Penalty Clause

Jill Walsh knows that love isn’t real. Her first husband proved as much. He definitely loved her when they were first married. But then his love fizzled out and he broke her heart.

On that day, Jill told herself lasting love did not exist.

Andrew understands Jill. He suffered an unforgivable betrayal at the hands of his first love. From that day, Andrew chose to close himself off. He would never again make himself vulnerable to the hurts and aches of love.

Both Andrew and Jill find their promises tested when passion ignites between them. Andrew not only realizes that he loves Jill but he comes to the conclusion that the only way to keep her heart forever is to offer her an ironclad penalty clause in a prenuptial agreement.
