Just a warning that these books are not appropriate for anybody that does not like laughing, British slang, and anybody that does not like smokin’ hot older guys and sexy red-haired twinks having a bunch of sex and attempting to not fall in love.

“Fake It til You Make Out” is the first novel in the “Love & Luck” series and was released in 2020. It is a classic story as old as time: boy meets girl, girl breaks boy’s heart, boy pretends he’s gay to get back at the girl, girl outs boy to everybody on Facebook. Okay, maybe it isn’t all that classic. However that is what happened to Heath.

When Heath bumps into his cheating ex and catches sight of the moon-sized rock that is on her finger, there is just one option to save face. Pretend that he is dating Declan, his gay best friend. And when she outs him on Facebook and everybody he knows sees it, there is still just a single option: continue to be fake dating Declan.

And when Declan and Heath have to kiss in order to keep the ruse up and it turns out that they actually have a spark between them (it is more like a blazing inferno, if truth is to be told) there is still just the one option.

This is a cute, funny, romantic, and sexy read that made readers giggle right from the very first page. The novel takes an old theme and puts a fresh new spin on it.

“Virtually Screwed” is the second novel in the “Love & Luck” series and was released in 2020. Blake is supposed to have everything all figured out, and had you asked him six months ago he would have said that he did: head of his own tech company, gorgeous fiancee, amazing future that was all planned out. Life was perfect. He thought it was, anyway.

Now he is in New York after he sold off his company and fleeing San Jose, and for the very first time for as long as he is able to remember he has nothing to fill his day (no launch parties, no meetings, no tests, and no reports). And that is how he managed to get hooked on “Warpath 4” and somehow find himself sexting with this guy roughly twenty years younger than him.

Well, it didn’t start out as dirty. It was all totally tame. Conversational. Mild. However then things took a flirting turn, and that lead to dirty talk. Then things just escalated from there.

However it is all just a bit of fun, right? It isn’t like anything would ever work in real life. Blake is too old, and he is still closeted. And Blake is straight, supposedly. It really is far too messy. Definitely best if they never actually met up face to face.

However what if they already have? Turns out that Blake’s virtual fuck buddy is really Owen Kelly, his best friend’s little brother. Which leaves him pretty much screwed.

Readers felt for Owen, who is such a loveable character and you wind up glad he has a roomie in his life. The book gets you laughing from the start and sighing with happiness mixed with a bit of burning curiosity by the end.

“Crazy Little Fling” is the third novel in the “Love & Luck” series and was released in 2020. This is not exactly what Jamie would call the ideal situation; getting introduced to your bio-dad’s best mate just to realize that he is the sexy older guy that you hooked up with a few weeks ago, however it is also not the worst possible thing to ever happen in history. The way that Jamie sees it, it’s really fate. The universe is throwing Shay Kelly in his path again since it knows just how much he’s been dying for another shag with him.

Jamie’s got four weeks before he is to head on back to London, and he knows just how he would like to enjoy spending that time. Just fortunately for him, Shay is equally as keen for a repeat or ten as he is.

All they need is some ground rules to keep such a fling in check. One: Remember that it’s temporary. It makes sense, since neither one of them does the long-term bit. And it is not as though they can continue with this once Jamie moves back to London.

Two: No dates, it’s just sex. Sex is the best part of dating anyway, so easy peasy. Three: They’ll keep it just between them. Perfect. Sneaking around and coming up with elaborate lies is an absolute turn on for Jamie.

Four: No falling in love. Love? Jamie? In just four weeks? There is a better shot of Jamie inventing the solution to climate change.

There is plenty of steam, some good banter, and both lead characters were very likable. Isla writes fun dialogue and the whole Kelly family is a blast to be around.

“Hopeless Bromantics” is the fourth novel in the “Love & Luck” series and was released in 2020. Here are a few things that Wade wishes somebody would have told him just a few months ago. It is impossible to un-teach a five year old the word ‘dildo’. Putting together an Ikea desk does not make somebody qualified to help out with home renovations. Two straight guys messing around with each other is not as uncommon as people may think, so do not freak out.

Wade certainly freaked out. Moving back to Staten Island after his divorce was the simple choice, really. And hiring a contractor to help make his new place more liveable was an even simpler one. However he was not expecting for the contractor to be Brendan Kelly, this old high school friend that he had lost contact with through the years. And he certainly was not expecting what happened next.

Pay attention, everybody. They are here to revolutionize the bromance!
