Lucy Darling is a romance author obsessed with laughs, love, and happily-ever-after stories. She loves drinking coffee which keeps her awake late at night, writing her next best romance novel.
Just One Look is the first book in the Forever series by Lucy Darling. It’s a sort of Beauty and the Beast retelling story highlighting the story of Fawn’s dad caught dipping into the company funds. In response, the company’s owner coerces his daughter into marriage so that he can provide a mother for his new nephew. Roman falls in love immediately after seeing Fawn. Coincidentally, Fawn finds herself swept away into Roman’s luxurious life, and truly desires true marriage. Just One Looks is full of instant love, a surprise marriage and a confident heroine. Readers also get a fair share of interaction with the possessive and dirty-talking hero who is unafraid of hunting for whatever he wants despite knowing the imminent consequences.
Fawn’s father is a gambler, and her grandmother is sick. So, she applies for a job as a nanny, but little does she know that Roman has other plans for her. He plans on marrying her instantly because he’s been so obsessed with her from the first time he saw her picture. He is an affluent man and has recently won custody of his nephew, whom he never knew about, let alone knowing he had a sibling. Fawn takes care of Ace, helps the little boy attend horse riding sessions, and spends nights with Roman. Several nights without sex make the two frustrated and horny, but Fawn won’t let Roman have her that easy. So Roman devises a plan and moves Fawn’s Grams, and soon she falls for him. Her father tries to intervene, but he faces Roman’s wrath. Lucy Darling seamlessly excels at sweet and sexy romance books featuring strong alphas and sweet innocent likeable heroines.
Beauty and the Outcast is the third book in the Forever series by Lucy Darling. It’s a book with trigger warnings such as torture (the male main character has cigarette burns), violence, harassment, dysfunctional parents, and many whiney high school students. The main character is Knox, who has bad boy traits written all over him. He is not afraid to punch anyone in the face when protecting those who can’t do it themselves. He has a scary past, having spent his childhood and teenagehood in foster homes and never had a real family or anyone to love him. He comes to learn about a twin sister and a home he never knew existed and can’t help but live in denial.
Meet Faith, Knox’s twin sister. Her mother separated them due to financial strains in her life. She had initially raised Faith but would later give up on her because she couldn’t take care of her as well. Luckily for Faith, she was adopted by two loving parents Kennedy and Oz and knows what it means to have a loving home and the security it provides. Fast forward a few years, and we meet Knox, still an angry man who’s quick to use his fists when necessary. He wants to focus on something or someone. Lucy Darling introduces us to Whitney, Faith’s best friend. Like Knox, Whitney has a scary past, and from the moment Knox sets his eyes on her- he knows it’s her he’s meant to be with and can’t let go.
There is sweetness overload in the Beauty and the Outcast story. The characters may be young, but the author excels the most in this story by creating characters that are both intelligent and caring. Characters that aren’t dumbed down and bedhopping but instead have moral values, and with one look at each other, they know they have found their perfect partner. As a reader, you will love the possessiveness of the male character towards the heroine from the first time they meet. He is a soft gentleman who doesn’t like disappointing his family and instead uses his unhealthy mechanisms to cope with trauma. This always gets him thinking that he disappointed his parents and twin sister. But on the contrary, they all want what’s best for him after all those years of thinking they had lost him in foster care or, even worse, dead.
On the other hand, we meet our beautiful and sweet heroine who is scared and tries her best to remain invisible to the world due to trauma from her past she can never forget. She is coping with her fears, knowing her parents don’t love her and are only interested in using her. She never expected to fall in love with her best friend’s brother, and now as she explores new emotions, she learns that she has the responsibility of understanding herself in such different ways. Beauty and the Outcast features consented, sweet and raw lovemaking. Knox goes far and beyond to protect the heroine; he doesn’t want to let go or make them have any more misunderstandings. The two have clear communication between them; they love their family and have respect and kindness towards each other.
Love Forever is the second book in the Love series by Lucy Darling. Meet Ethan King, a man focused on skyrocketing his empire, but that dedication leaves little room for anything else. When his small brother decides to follow his footsteps, Ethan decides to showcase to him that money isn’t everything. But his venture into the “money isn’t everything” scheme soon finds Ethan stumbling into a woman he soon falls madly in love with.
Meet Amelia Clark, a woman who has never known what it truly means to be loved or cared for. She has worked for everything she has, and nothing will come her way in achieving her goals. She has always kept matters of the heart at arm’s length, and her plans work so perfectly until one encounter with a strange bartender. But when the bartender gets closer than anyone has ever been, she pulls back, but that backfires and left with no options, she does what she does best, run. But luckily, Ethan loves to chase, and because he’s interested in Amelia, he won’t stop until she is rightfully his. Love Forever is a hot, steamy book with lots of sexual chemistry. If you enjoy the heat of such books, this is the right novel for you.
