Lucy Tempest
Lucy Tempest, with a foot in reality and the other lodged firmly in fantasy, has been spinning stories since she first learned how to speak. Now that she’s an author, people are able to experience the worlds that she creates for themselves.

Lucy has been trying to write stories since she learned how to read, and won awards in several student writing competitions for her short stories, however the very first time Lucy finished a full length novel was at the age of fourteen. She followed that up by writing at least twenty novels which have been lost or discarded through the years, along with sometimes writing fanfiction, which served her as great practice.

After many failed attempts at rewriting one such discarded stories, she decided she’d start over from scratch and start plotting out what would end up becoming “Thief of Cahraman” in late 2015.

After a bunch of rewriting and reworking, she released “Thief of Cahraman” in mid-2018, with all of “Fairytales of Folkshore” series planned out. It was originally supposed to be ten books and conclude with a Hades & Persephone adaptation, however while the years went by and the story grew much too big to fit in just a stand alone, she had to give the novel its own series in “Into the Nether Court”.

“Thief of Cahraman” is the first novel in the “Fairytales of Folkshore” series and was released in 2018. Fifty contestants. A month. A prince. And one impossible heist. You’ve been summoned to Sunstone Palace to compete in our search for the future Queen of Cahraman.

Adelaide, after spending years on the run, believes her dangerous and lonely life as a thief has finally ended. However her world gets upended when this witch steals her away to this faraway kingdom, to perform this impossible heist. If Adelaide is not successful, her newfound family would get sacrificed to some beast.

To accomplish her mission, she is forced to assume the role of a noblewoman and enter a royal competition. The prize is the hand of the elusive Crown Prince. Elimination means a certain death. While the witch’s literal deadline approaches, she’s got one final gamble to save the day, and to escape into a new life with Cyrus, the mysterious and handsome fellow thief that stole her heart.

However everything unravels right as the prince reveals himself finally.

“Prince of Cahraman” is the second novel in the “Fairytales of Folkshore” series and was released in 2018. Five contestants, one week. One prince. And a devastating choice.

Before she narrowly avoided elimination. Now, she’s gotta win. Selected as one of the final five in the bride search, Ada’s got one final chance to track down the golden lamp and save her family.

But with Cyrus no longer being her partner-in-crime, and now her target, her plans unravel, ripping her between her desire and duty. Now she’s just a week to pass through three increasingly difficult tests fit for a queen.

While the competition takes a perilous bend, secrets are revealed, demolishing her whole world as she knows it. Caught between some impossible decisions, the fates of those she loves depend on her choices. However she fears that no matter what she does, she would lose everything and change Cahraman forever.

“Queen of Cahraman” is the third novel in the “Fairytales of Folkshore” series and was released in 2019. One captive kingdom. One queen. A gamble for salvation. Now she must take a stand, after a lifetime or running away.

Ada, in a corrupted Cahraman, is back on the streets, and struggles to save her friends and the kingdom from the fallout of her devastating mistake. Only way to redeem herself is to put things back how they were, however that seems impossible when her enemy is all powerful.

Cyrus and her friends escape, their reunion becomes bittersweet while her part in Nariman’s takeover becomes exposed. Now that Cyrus doesn’t trust her anymore, there’s just one thing which could fix everything: the lamp. However her plans of stealing it flings them into a treacherous quest for salvation through unseen worlds, forgotten lands, and a cave of wonders. It’s a journey that tests their knowledge of who they are, their love, unearthing some shocking truths about each of them, and exposes magic’s dark side.

Without any need for more lies and without secrets, Ada’s goal is to just surmount the harrowing obstacles thrown at her and find the only thing which can defeat Nariman before time runs out. Should she fail, they’re all doomed to such a grim fate forever.

“The Starless Court” is the first novel in the “Into the Nether Court” series and was released in 2022. Cora has seen it all in her years of travel, trauma, and training preparing her to be the next Mistress of the Granary, the world’s greatest farming region. From here on out, her life is going to be rooted to the land that she loves and nothing will be able to shake her resolve, let alone surprise or scare her. Then all her lookalikes begin turning up savagely slaughtered, and one god abducts her cousin.

Despite almost matching him in strength, her mortal form cannot withstand his brutal magic. When death shows up, the connection that she felt the fateful night before returns to her tenfold.

Instead of killing her, this enigmatic God of the Underworld transports her to his dreaded Nether Court, where he hands her an ultimatum. He’s got two issues: The King of the Gods has vanished, and his suspected descendants are getting eliminated. And after he refused to take the throne, so the gods demanded that he takes a wife. She’ll be his undercover agent in his investigation into the god’s disappearance, and his chosen contestant for a Goddess of the Underworld.

She is forced to compete against the gods’ immortal candidates, and mustn’t just survive the impossible odds, but also the horrible danger of igniting the desires of the lethal and cold king, Adamantus, who never wanted anything before her.

While their ill fated connection plunges into some unforeseen depths, so does the mystery which surpasses their worst fears. There is a divine succession war that’s brewing, and it threatens to destroy both the immortal and mortal realms, and she’s at the center of all of it.
