Outsystem
In Outsystem, author M.D Cooper introduces the readers to Tanis Richards, an extremely strong and unmovable character. Richard’s rather tough attitude gives the storyline the right edge. Apart from being intelligent, Tanis Richards is also at the top of her game and is one of the best in the security sector. A quick-paced thriller, Outsystem is based on Tanis Richards, as she plans to take over Intrepid’s security system, and a ship that is expected to lead the locals to a new colony. In this future, many things are not possible. Thanks to cybernetics and surgeries, there are human beings who are practical, immortal. Furthermore, the plastic surgeries have made others look not so human. The future that Outsystem has been set in is one where it is only the human beings who have morals are the ones who have the ability to set the standards.
When we meet with Tanis Richards, she is a person who has a reputation for getting things done. Richards has recently been demoted from the army and thus is left to hung-out dry. The local and international media have decided to label Tanis Richards as the butcher of Toro. However, despite having a soiled record, Tanis is undeniably one of the outstanding counter-insurgency officers within the Terran space force. After a group of terrorists tried to annihilate the GSS Intrepid, the Terran Force needs her services once again. The GSS Intrepid is a huge colony ship, which is in the final phases of completion within Mars Outer Shipyard. According to Tanis Richards, this is going to be her ticket out of the system.
As Tanis begins to track the terrorists, she realizes that she is not only dealing with assassins and terrorists, there are also several governments and organizations that are more than determined to ensure that the Intrepid does not at any one point leave Sol system. With that said, Outsystem is a fast-paced thriller, that is explosive action and suspense, which does not include lots of technical details. Tanis Richards is a brilliant character who not only stands out but also kicks ass as well.
A Path into Darkness
A Path into Darkness is the second installment in the Intrepid book series. In A Path into Darkness, the Intrepid ship that was transporting thousands of colonies is falling fast into a star. The intrepid ship has not only lost its artificial intelligence, but it has lost control over its core system and engines. After exploring all of its options, the AI has no option but to wake Colonel Tanis from her stasis. Upon waking up, Colonel Tanis Richards finds herself all alone on a dying ship. Furthermore, Tanis also discovers that she cannot communicate with the ships Artificial Intelligence system. Thus, Tanis begins her investigation to find out what exactly happened to the ship and also save Intrepid from being destroyed by the star’s red light.
If her mission proves to be a success, the road ahead is still uncertain. Due to the fact that the colony will be traveling for many years, Colonel Tanis Richards must be able to find a path for the intrepid through the darkness. With that said, A Path into Darkness delivers a rather solid plot with several thrills and a bunch of twists. Author M.D Cooper delves a little more into Colonel Tanis’s background, and in the process, the readers get the full narrative of what happened in Toro, which he had hinted in Outsystem. Despite the fact that the Intrepid is the main character in a Path into Darkness, author M.D Cooper has still focused on the passengers, their relationship grows. The readers get to learn more about the strength of the human race and willingness to survive.
Destiny Lost
Destiny Lost is the first installment in the Orion War book series. In Orion Wars, author M.D Cooper introduces the readers to Captain Sera. Captain Sera is an erstwhile smuggle and a star freighter captain. One day, Captain Sera picks up a cargo, which was meant for a pirate that she had been doing business with for such a long time. Along the way, curiosity gets better of Sara, and she decides to look at what she was transporting. Inside the container, Sara finds a woman who claims that she used to be a major for one of the fleets, which was attached to Intrepid, the lost colony ship. Tanis eventually comes to learn why the Intrepid was highly valuable. Several years into the future, General Tanis finally awakens. Tanis tells a half-truth about her true identity.
To locate the ship, General Tanis will need Captain Sera’s assistance. However, while Sera and Tanis try and locate the ship, they discover that they were being followed by pirates, who were more than determined to get their merchandise back. It does not take long before Captain Sera is captured. Considering the fact that Captain Sera helped General Tanis in getting away, she decides it is now her turn, to show how grateful she was. Thus, General Tanis leads her entire crew to one of the most deadly rescue missions. Captain Sera, who was more resourceful that how she appeared eventually meets with the rescue team and made her way back to the ship.
Eventually, General Tanis discovers that Captain Sera had a piece of technology, which no ordinary captain would have in their possession. From the look of things, both Sera and Tanis are both keeping secrets. Will the two trust one another until they can locate the Intrepid? With that said, Destiny Colony has everything that a reader would expect from a highly entertaining novel. Apart from having an amazing backstory, Destiny Colony also has understandable conjectural scientific theories, tough female characters, explorations black holes, pirates, romance and a brilliant battle strategy. Apart from being beautiful, General Tanis and Captain Sera, the two protagonists are strong, intelligent and technologically and tactically savvy warriors.
Has anyone questioned how a person can have so many publications, I mean they have come extremely fast. I just started looking into her today and an stunned by the volume of her work. I saw one of her books, “Lyssa’s Flight”, on a you tube recommendation.
