The clues that they eventually find, all point to the fourth empire. Hawk Hunter and his allies revenge plan begin by first invading the second spiral, which is commonly referred in the book as reaches of the two arms. The response given by the Empire begins a succession of military engagements, which portrays the author’s ability to pen down highly entertaining battle scenes. In comparison to the Wingman book series, the action in the Fourth Empire is fast paced, and as the explosions keep on coming, Hawk Hunter keeps on surviving what would normally kill a normal soldier.
Mack Maloney has done an exceptional job of describing the history of both the first and second empire in extremely graphic details. He also explains to the reader the connection between the first two empires and the fourth empire. Maloney also drops a hint of what is expected in the future novels, as the readers discover that the rulers of the empires may have been influenced or manipulated by forces that are non-human. The Lucifer Crusade is the third book in the Wingman book series by Mack Maloney. The book begins as the Circle War has just ended and the Russian Invaders have finally been defeated. Just as it was the case with the previously installment, the protagonist is Hawk Hunter, who is one of the most successful jet fighters in the earth’s history. Hawk Hunter is not only alone, but he is also hunted and desperate. However, he is on a mission to seek revenge. When the nuclear bombs from the Soviet Union wrecked the United States, Hunter decided to take refuge in one of the places that he has always felt safe; sky. The first action involved the Circle War; a Russian Invasion which was led by Viktor Robotov. The PAAC was highly successful in expelling the Russians. However, their leader Robotov managed to escape. Thus, Hunter has decided to pursue the Russian leader who managed to escape. In a world where it is a criminal offense to wave stars and stripes, Hawk Hunter decides to paint his jet fighter red, blue and white. Hawk Hunter is pursued by earth’s entire Airforce as he tears up the sky while seeking revenge. There are more than one hundred killers trailing him. However, they do not bother him as Hawk Hunter has one target in mind. The great thing about Hawk Hunter is that he never misses.

However, out of nowhere, three Phantom planes appear on the plane’s tail and immediately open fire. Due to the fact that the charter plane is not matched for the Phantom jet fighters, the passenger plane’s captain decides to give up. Just as he was giving up, the assailants out of nowhere explode, thereby becoming Hawk Hunter’s latest victims. Despite the fact that Hawk managed to bring the US back from the brink of total annihilation, a new enemy has emerged.
