Apart from the Country Store Mysteries, author Maddie writes a couple of other mystery series as well under different names. One of the initial books of the Country Store series is known as ‘Flipped for Murder’. It features Robbie Jordan in the main lead. She is depicted as owning and running a country restaurant named Pans ‘N Pancakes, located in the fictional town of South Lick, Indiana.

Robbie carries a full scale remodelling of her restaurant with the help of several antique cookwares and changes it into a local lunch and breakfast establishment. But, during the course of the remodelling, Robbie does not intend to have a murder takes place on her property. However, her life turns into a complicated one because of the small town secrets and the bitter rivalries from the competitors. But, the past secrets of the town, blackmailing, and several credible suspect play spoil sport in her life and make it look more complicated. Due to the excellent description of the plot and the characters, the novel appeared to be quite lively and electric. Agatha Award winning novelist Leslie Budewitz appreciated the determined efforts of author Maddie with ever so praising and motivating words. This allowed author Maddie to focus on the next novels in the mystery series. The success of the debut book of the series also helped her gain lot of confidence for writing a few other mystery novel series in her writing career. After the first book, author Maddie released a couple more books in the series and is currently working on the story of the fourth novel. Author Maddie was inspired to describe the Pan ‘n Pancakes restaurant in the series by a local store named ‘Story General Store’, located in Story, Indiana.

An initial book in the series was published under the title ‘Flipped for Murder’. It was released by the Kensington publication in the year 2015. At the beginning of the story, Robbie Jordan is depicted as trying to get over with her broken heart. She trades her life on the West Coast and travels to the rolling hills located in southern Indiana. At first, she pays visit to her aunt named Adele and then slowly falls in love with the small South Lick town. After a short while, Robbie Jordan discovers a signboard on a local country store which showed that it was up for sale. She decides to purchase the store and try her hand at her cooking skills. Firstly, she makes use of her skills as a carpenter and makes certain changes in the store according to her taste. Later, she gives invitation to all the important personalities of the town for the grand reopening of the Pan N Pancakes country store. On the day of the reopening, the dead body of the mayor’s assistant is found in the store. Previously, the assistant was not too happy with the restarting of the store. Due to this, Robbie’s life is put in a complex situation. Being seen as a suspect in the murder of the assistant, Robbie is required to solve the puzzle on her own in order to clear her name. In doing so, she will also have to uncover the dark secrets of the two and track down the real killer before herself becoming his next victim.

The second novel in the series titled ‘Grilled for Murder’ was also published by the Kensington publishers. It was released in the year 2016. As the plot of the book begins, it is shown that Robbie Jordan has become successful in transforming a rundown store in the charming tiny town of South Lick in Indiana. However, the popular destination also brings a lot of troubles in her life. A character named Erica Shermer is introduced as the widow of the brother of a local lawyer named Jim Shermer. Jim is introduced in the plot as a smart and handsome lawyer. Later, during the mourning session of Jim’d brother, Erica Shermer does not turn up and this raises a lot of questions in the minds of people. However, she makes her appearance at a homecoming party held at Robbie Jordan’s store, where she is seen flirting around with other men. Even Jim Shermer also attends the party and on seeing him, Erica tries to bat her eyes. The next morning, Erica is found dead in Robbie’s country store. Her dead body is discovered in a clobbered state, probably with some cookware from the store. The police have their suspicions about one of Robbie’s friends named Phil. It is learned that he was the last one to leave the party last night. Robbie seems quite confident that Phil had not committed the crime. Therefore, in order to save him from getting wrongly convicted and calming her regular customers, Robbie decides to take the matters into her own hands and catch the real killer.
