Maggi Andersen fell in love with the Regency era as she read the fantastic novels of Jane Austen and Georgette Heyer, the fascinating Victorian era of Jane Eyre, and those excellent novels from the Bronte sisters as well as Victoria Holt’s Gothics.

With a BA in English and Fine Arts and a Master of Arts Degree in Creative Writing, she lives with her husband, who is a retired lawyer.

Maggi’s favorite part of writing is being able to work in your pajamas with a neverending supply of coffee.

She deals with writers’ block by writing anything, since you cannot edit a page that is blank.

“The Baron’s Betrothal” is the first novel in the “Dangerous Lords” series and was released in 2012. London in 1816. Guy Fortescue arrives in England looking to claim his inheritance, Rosecroft Hall, which was abandoned more than thirty years ago when his dad fled to France after he killed a guy in a duel. However England proves to be quite a dangerous place, since somebody wants Guy dead. While Guy looks to figure out who lies behind these attacks on his life, he arranges for a faux betrothal with Miss Horatia Cavendish.

But unfortunately things do not go according to plan. Hetty, an aspiring poet, proves to have this mind of her own, however in spite of all that, Guy finds her to be much too alluring. Dangerous.

Hetty, lovely and headstrong, agrees to this betrothal since it allows her to go to London where she can attend literary societies with her aunt. As her affection for Guy grows even deeper, she mustn’t forget about the betrothal is not actually real. Guy is going to pick a bride from the beau monde, it’s not going to be to a colonel’s daughter from Digswell.

However Hetty’s quickly drawn into Guy’s life even more, and not totally against her will either. He’s brave and handsome, and the attraction between the two of them is undeniable. She’s soon unable to resist her desire for Guy and the fact that somebody is out to kill him just feeds her innate protectiveness of the man she’s betrothed to. While attempts continue to be made on his life, Hetty and Genevieve (his sister) work together to keep Guy alive, and a love which has been denied comes to fruition finally in the exciting conclusion.

“Lady Honor’s Debt” is the first novel in the “Baxendale Sisters” series and was released in 2015. Freedom is all that Lady Honor Baxendale really wants, for both herself and hersisters. Honor has got this bold plan to become financially independent, using this skill that she learned at her dad’s knee. She looks to get the help from a lawyer and is rather pleased with her selection, so long as she can resist this solicitor himself.

Lord Edward Winborne has been happy to come to the aid of his four sisters in the past. However when Lady Honor Baxendale (a neighbor’s daughter) requests for his help for this dangerous scheme she’s got in mind, he feels that it is his duty to dissuade her. However when that fails, he wants to keep her safe, and then somehow he finds that he wants to do more. So much more.

“Presenting Miss Letitia” is the first novel in the “Once a Wallflower” series and was released in 2019. Rakes are intent on something that a young debutante must never give to them. Their virtue!

Letitia Bromley, armed with such advice from her aunt, embarks on her first Season in London. Fresh from the country, she’s intent on a romantic adventure after she’s read the diaries of great-great Aunt Lydia, who sailed the high seas with a pirate. However when Letty’s kind patroness begs for her to help right a wrong done to her dead husband, Letty is only able to respond to the lady’s distress. Could it really be true that the rakish Brandon Cartwright spies for the French? Danger is lurking, and Letty gets unsure about whom she can trust. Her head is urging her to still be sensible, and to go home to the guy that everybody in her village expects her to marry, however her heart is saying otherwise.

Brandon, who was declared the family’s black sheep by his dad after a tragedy, gets drawn into the spying business. He’s had little regard for his own life, taking dangerous assignments on, until circumstances alter when he gets involved with this stubborn young lady that’s determined to help her chaperone. Brandon cannot help but admire Letty for her compassion and courage, however while he’s intent to keep her safe, he’s got zero intention of drawing her into his disreputable life.

Once he sees her safely on her return trip back to Cumbria, he can pick up the threads of the life that he lived before she dropped into it, or is he going to follow his heart, and her?

“Never Doubt a Duke” is the first novel in the “Never” series and was released in 2020. Take an arranged marriage, add in a damaged duke that does not wish to get married, and one independent lady that’s intent on her own pursuits. Stir in a rather passionate and explosive attraction. Sparks will fly!

Lady Nellie Dountry, and Charles, His Grace, Duke of Shewsbury have gotten their hearts broken in the past. Neither one is prepared to chance love again. When they’re compelled to marry due to an agreement made a long time ago by their dads, they’re both determined to resist falling in love. Convinced that it is mere desire which draws the two of them together, each are surprised by their jealousy.

Nellie finds Charles to be irresistibly attractive, however other women do as well. They circle around like sharks. Aware that Charles’ ex-fiancee that had gotten his heart broken many years ago, is now a widow and is on the hunt for a lover, Nellie struggles to trust him as she fears that she’s falling in love with him.

Charles was more than pleased with his selection of bride, however wishes that she was not so tough to understand. One minute she is just as remote from him as a chalet in the Alps and the next she is hot for him. Why he wants to get close surprises him; he planned on his marriage to be little more than one of polite indifference. However Nellie is so dashed beguiling.
