Marilyn Pappano is an American bestselling and award-winning author of romance and romantic suspense books. She has authored more than twenty standalones and four book series. She also writes Selena McCaffrey series under the pen name, Rachel Butler. A Hero to Come Home To is the first book in Tallgrass series by Marilyn Pappano. The novel opens up precisely 13 months after Carly lost her beloved husband in a military mission in Afghanistan. On the other hand, Dane isn’t coping too well with his injuries, and he’s afraid to tell Carly because he fears that she likes perfection and he isn’t perfect. As they take what they’ve built forward, Dane keeps on holding back. Carly suspects that something’s up with Dane, but she’s also patient enough knowing love is patient and shouldn’t be forced.
