He always wanted to dedicated two decades into the army. Now he’s injured, his mother feels that a piece of him is missing, his wife cheated and left him, and Dane is certain that relationship won’t work at this time in his life.

However by coincidence or rather say fate, Dane and Carly keep on bumping on each other, and soon they become good friends. They soon start to develop feelings of more than friendship, but they’re still struggling with their problems. Carly still has her wedding ring and still keeps her husband’s belongings in her house, and the house still looks the same when her husband left for the battlefield. Additionally, she is struggling with the guilt as she feels like she’s cheating on her dead husband because she is getting attached to Dane. She has support from her friend as well as her family especially her sister-in-law who assures her that everything is going to be okay. She soon starts feeling what she hasn’t ever felt before when she takes her relationship with Dane to the next level.

On the other hand, Dane isn’t coping too well with his injuries, and he’s afraid to tell Carly because he fears that she likes perfection and he isn’t perfect. As they take what they’ve built forward, Dane keeps on holding back. Carly suspects that something’s up with Dane, but she’s also patient enough knowing love is patient and shouldn’t be forced. But the longer he keeps on holding back, the more it becomes hard for him to confess to her. However, he’ll have to take the risk if he needs some solid relationship with Carly.
