Marion Kummerow
USA Today Bestselling author Marion Kummerow was born on April 29 in Germany, where she grew up, all before setting out to “discover the world” and then lived in various different countries. In the year 1999, she came back to Germany and settled down in Munich where she now lives with her family.

After trying her hand with nonfiction books, she tackled a project that was dear to her heart. “Unrelenting” is the tale of her grandparents, who belonged to the German resistance and fought the Nazi regime. The novel is about love, resilience, and bravery to stand up and do the right thing. She tried sticking as close to the real events as much as she possibly could, however it is fiction nonetheless.

When starting to write a story, Marion usually has an image in her mind to begin with. From that single image, she is able to think up one whole entire story. Most of her ideas come while she is writing. So she really doesn’t get inspired to write. She gets inspired by actually writing.

Her books are filled with perpetual resilience, raw emotions, and fierce loyalty. She loves to put her characters through the mangle, and make them reach down deep inside themselves to find the strength to face make tough choices, face a moral dilemma, or fight for what’s right. And she never forgets to include undying love and humor in her work, because love’s what makes this world go round.

“War Girl Ursula” is the first novel in the “War Girls” series and was released in the year 2017. Berlin in 1943. Compassion is actually a crime. A prisoner escapes and a guard just looks the other way. Why would Ursula Hermann risk her own life and brave the Gestapo to save a guy that she barely knows?

Ursula has always lived by the law, and never broken a single rule in her life. Until she stumbles upon Tom Westlake, an escapee British airman, and all of the right that she has worked so very hard to maintain just goes wrong. The man runs, and she doesn’t do anything to stop him. Torn by her guilt about what she just did, she struggles with her choice when he returns all of a sudden, wounded and pleading for her help.

This is her opportunity to set things right. However shadows from the past are tugging at her heart, convincing her to risk it all, including her life, so that she can protect a guy from the nation that her country is fighting. While they brave the dangers and perils of the ever present Gestapo, is she going to figure a way to keep Tom protected?

Or is being on opposing sides of this war going to ultimately cost them both their lives?

“War Girl Anna” is the third novel in the “War Girls” series and was released in the year 2017. Does the Greater Good justify every sacrifice? Nurse Anna knows very well from her personal experience that war’s an ugly affair.

She faces evil everyday, working in a Nazi concentration camp. During the nighttime, she is forced to service this one SS doctor in other specific ways. However right when her fate turns around and she leaves the horrors behind, she learns that human cruelty doesn’t know any limit.

At last pursuing her dream career as a biologist, she finds a ghastly secret that the Nazis have been hiding from the world. Looking away isn’t going to appease her conscience. Especially not when she is the one that’s supposed to do their ugly bidding for them. Now she is faced with the toughest decision of all.

“Second Chance at First Love” is the first novel in the “War Girls Romance” series and was released in the year 2018. Stan comes back home from the battlefields of World War Two a bitter and broken man. He has resigned himself to a life without happiness and love, certain the no woman would put up with some cripple like him. Until the day that Agnieska turns up on his porch.

She has endured six long years of cruel oppression in the Nazi camps, and when she arrived on Stan’s doorstep all that she wants is just to find a single friend that survived. Agnieska never once imagined that gruff and short-tempered Stan would be the guy that captured her heart. When friendship becomes love, can she convince this brooding guy that he is everything that she needs?

A sweet historical romance between a couple of people that have endured through some unimaginable hardships.

“A Light in the Window” is the second stand alone novel and was released in the year 2021. Berlin in 1941. Margarete Rosenbaum works as a housemaid for a Senior Nazi officer when his house gets bombed, which leaves her as the sole survivor. However when she gets mistaken for the man’s daughter during the aftermath of the blast, she knows she can make a bid for her freedom.

Issued some temporary papers, and with the freedom of not being seen as Jewish, just a few hours are all that she needs to escape to relative safety. Until SS officer Wilhelm Huber (her former employee’s son) tracks her down. Oddly enough he doesn’t reveal her true identity straight away. Rather he insists that she come and live with him in Paris, and it would seem that he is determined to make sure she stays hidden. His one condition is that she has to continue pretending to be his sister. Because who’d ever suspect a Nazi female of actually being a Jew?

His plan just seems impossible, and Margarete is horrified they could get found out, not to mention worried about what Wilhelm could want in return. However while the Nazis begin rounding up Jews in Paris and the Resistance steps up its activities, and putting everybody that opposes the regime in peril, she realizes that hiding in plain sight could be her one chance of survival.

Can she trust this Nazi officer with the only things she’s got left: her life, her safety, and even her heart?
