Marion Ueckermann
Marion Ueckermann, a USA Today Bestselling author, had her passion for writing sparked when she moved with her family to Ireland. Her love of traveling has influenced her contemporary inspirational romances set in novel places.
She was born in Mufulira, Zambia on September 18, 1960. Marion died in July of 2021 at the age of 60.
“Orphaned Hearts” is the first novel in the “Heart of Africa” series and was released in 2015. Simon Hartley (a Zambian conservationist), after his wife died during childbirth, pours his entire life into raising his daughter and his orphan elephants. He’s got no time and no desire to fall in love again. At least that’s what he thinks, anyway.
Lady Abigail Chadwick, wanting to escape from English society and postpone her arranged marriage, heads to Africa for one year to teach the kids of the Good Shepherd Orphanage. Upon her arrival, she gets stranded at Livingstone airport until a reluctant Simon comes to her rescue.
Now just fears born from his loss, and secrets about the life that she has tried leaving behind, could possibly stonewall their romance, which is budding in the heart of Africa.
“The Other You” is the second novel in the “Heart of Africa” series and was released in 2016. Taylor Cassidy is journeying from one end of America to the other seeking an answer to this question of who she is. Nearly five years of it has brought her no closer to this truth. Now as an award winning photojournalist for Wines & Vines, Taylor gets sent on assignment to South Africa to learn the inspiration behind Aimee Amour (the DeBois estate’s flagship wine). Mystery’s enshrouded the story behind the woman for whom the wine’s been named.
Armand DeBois, a South African winegrower, has his world shaken when this car accident leaves him in a coma for three whole weeks, and his wife dead. The road to recovery and mourning is a dark one, and Armand teeters back and forth between falling away from God and falling back into His comforting arms.
When Taylor and Armand meet, questions arise for each of them. As the country and the winegrower hold this odd attraction for Taylor, Armand continues struggling with the uncertainty of whether or not he is falling in love with his future or his past.
“A Match for Magnolia” is the first novel in the “Seven Suitors for Seven Sisters” series and was released in 2016. Adulterer, womanizer, and divorced. That’s Lord Davis Rathbone’s history. His future? He vows to never marry or fall in love again, repeating past mistakes are not worth the risk. Then he meets Magnolia Blume, and filling his days writing poetry no longer seems to be an alternative to channel his pent up feelings. With God’s help, surely he’d be able to keep this rare treasure and actually make it work this time?
Magnolia Blume’s life is perfect, except for one thing: Davis Rathbone is everything that she is not looking for in a man. He does not strike her as one that is prone to the sentiments of religion, or family, however her judgments really could be premature.
Magnolia has to look beyond the gossip, Davis’ past, and their differences in order to find her perfect match, because, although flawed, Davis has got one redeeming quality: he’s a man after God’s own heart.
“A Romance for Rose” is the second novel in the “Seven Suitors for Seven Sisters” series and was released in 2016. Rose Blume has got a secret, and she has kept it for six long years now. It is the reason that she has convinced herself that she will have to find her joy making wedding dresses, but never wearing one.
Joseph Digiavoni (fashion design icon) crosses paths with her for the first time since their summer romance in Florence years prior, and all of the old feelings for her come rushing back to him. Not that they ever left really. He has lived with her image since she returned to England.
Rose and Joseph have been plunged into working together on the wedding outfits for the upcoming Rathbone/Blume Wedding. His top client’s marrying Rose’s sister. However is this task going to prove too tough, especially once Joseph is anxious for Rose to admit why she broke up with him in Italy and what she did during the months which followed?
A single person holds the key to happiness for all of them, if Joseph and Rose just trusted that the truth would set them both free. When they do bare their secrets finally, who’s got the most to forgive?
“A Time to Laugh” is the first novel in the “Under the Sun: Seasons of Change” series and was released in 2017. Brian and Elizabeth Dunham have served on the mission field for thirty years now. Unable to have to kids of their own, they have been parents to countless orphans in six African countries. When this unexpected beach house inheritance and a lung disease diagnosis coincide, they realize that it’s possible this is God’s way of telling them that it is time they retire.
Elizabeth, sixty years old, is now well past child-bearing age. She had long ago given up on wondering whether or not this would be the month that she would conceive. However when her neighbor and best friend jokes about Elizabeth’s sudden nausea and fatigue are symptoms of her being pregnant, Elizabeth finds herself walking that unwanted and familiar road once again, wondering if God could be pulling an Abraham and Sarah on her and her husband.
The mere notion has got questions flooding Elizabeth’s mind. If she even were miraculously pregnant, would they even have the stamina to raise a child in their golden years? Particularly with Brian’s health issues? And the kid? Would it be healthy, or would it go through life struggling along with some sort of disability? What about her own health? Could she even survive giving birth?
Will what they have dreamed about their whole married life be an ag-old blessing or just a curse?
