Mark Sullivan isan American author of suspense and mystery novels. His books include The Rogue, The Purification Ceremony, and Triple Cross. Sullivan was born in Medfield, Massachusetts, earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Hamilton University in 1980. Soon after his graduation, Sullivan served in the Peace Corps during which he spent most of his time teaching children in the Sahara Desert.
Sullivan returned to the United States in 1982 where he furthered his studies at Northwestern University, School of Journalism. After school, Sullivan joined Reuters where he worked as a financial correspondent from 1983 to 1984 but later quit his job to become a political reporter in Washington D.C. The author then joined San Diego Tribune and worked as a full-time investigative reporter. With a deep understanding of the different cultures from his experiences in Africa, Sullivan developed a journalistic style on the perceptions that he was investigating. Some of Sullivan’s award-winning novels include a series of book that details the culture of children brought up in a family of addicts.
As a child, Sullivan loved reading books and always dreamed that one day he would become an author. He started writing fiction aged 30years, and his first published novel was The Fall Line (1994). The book was chosen as the book of the year by New York Times. In 1995, Sullivan published a mystery book titled, Hard News that brought into the limelight the underworld of the contemporary newspapers- subsequently, the book garnered positive critical acclaim.
However, it was not until 1996 that Sullivan career rose to the skies. It was his book The Purification Ceremony that made him famous in the publishing world. The novel is narrated in a woman’s voice and has since then been published as a bestseller globally. The Purification Ceremony was a finalist for Edgar Allan Poe Award and also won W.H. Smith Award. Subsequently, the book was named as the best book of the year by Los Angeles Times.
The Purification Ceremony has been translated into different languages and also has been optioned for various adaptations into film. Furthermore, some of Sullivan’s books have been optioned for adaptation into movies, translated into over a dozen languages and also earned a place in the bestsellers list. For example, three books in Jack Morgan Series Private L.A, Private Berlin and Private Paris have been listed in New York Times Bestseller list.
The Purification Ceremony
The Purification Ceremony narrates the story of Diana Jackman, who was raised by his father and during her teenage days, she learned how to move freely in the jungles of Maine learned how to walk and survive in a world invisible to most men. Diana is a natural track from the lineage of shamans, healers, and hunters- now working as an environmental software writer, a mother, wife whose life has taught her a lesson to always safeguard her feelings behind the walls of silence and truths. Life has also taught her so many lessons, her happiness, her family, her peace and it has brought her to a scenic frozen place of magic and death.

Private is the first book in Private series by Mark Sullivan. The novel introduces Jack Morgan, a former Marine pilot and the owner of a renowned investigation firm with offices across the globe. His company is the place that anyone seeking justice after the cops have failed would go.
The secrets of the most influential people in the world visit Jack on a daily basis and require him and his team to use his advanced forensic tools to break even the solid cases.
Jack is investigating an NFL scam and unsolved murder of 18 schoolgirls when he learns of a brutal killing close to his home. His former lover and the wife of his good friend has been killed, and this nearly pushes the retired marine pilot over the edge.
