The first book that Max Brallier would write was a non-fiction adult humor book titled ‘Reasons to Smoke,’ which was later followed up by ‘Reasons to Drink.’ With a sense-of-humor to them all, Brallier would then go on to create a number of popular series for younger readers, infusing elements of fantasy and science-fiction into them. Originally released through the Aladdin publishing label, this first came out on the 24th of October back in 2017. With Rachel Maguire and Nichole Kelley illustrating it, the book is the third in the ‘Galactic Hot Dogs’ series of books. Continuing on from the last two, the story is a self-contained narrative, filled with action and excitement throughout.

Cosmoe is an Earth boy with the best flying food truck in the entire galaxy, as he embarks on intergalactic travels with his friend Big Humphree. This time round they’re both captured by a space pirate who has a link to Cosmoe’s past in the early days of his hot-dog selling. Humphree’s past also comes to light, as the two of them begin to realize the true danger that they’re currently in. Will they be able to escape alive? Can they discover the truth of it all? What has caused the revenge of the space pirates?
The Skeleton Road
Initially brought out through the ‘Viking Books for Young Readers’ publishing outlet, this would be the sixth book in the ‘Last Kids on Earth’ series. Released on the 15th of September in 2020, it would carry on from the previous books with another action packed adventure. There would also be plenty of twists and turns of its own, and more than enough surprises to keep it fresh and unique.
Made into a popular Netflix television series of the same name, it’s easy to see why the ‘Last Kids on Earth’ books are so popular. Ideal for younger readers, they’re packed with both action and humor, and this entry is no exception to that. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, the series has a lot of fun and imaginative concepts throughout, making it a must for any young fans of the science-fiction fantasy genre.
With the rest of the gang in tow, Jack Sullivan has the Midnight Blade in his hunt for the evil Thrull, along with his villainous skeleton army. Seeking to build the Tower, which is a portal all set to transport Rezzoch the Ancient into this dimension, as he’s the Destructor of Worlds, the enemy plan their evil move. Now Jack and friends must head out on a road trip, taking in the sights and sounds of their fun and excitement filled epic journey. Will they be able to reach their final destination and defeat the enemy before it’s too late? Can they make their way across the post-apocalyptic wasteland? What will they find on the skeleton road?
