About May Dawson

American author May Dawson is well known for her incisive and creative style of fiction that really resonates with readers worldwide. Largely recognized for writing fantasy novels, she has been hugely successful with a wide-range of readers, both nationally and internationally. Well regarded by both her many peers and contemporaries alike, she really understands the genre she’s writing within, making it fully her own. Many of her books are part of long-running series too, as they move on for consecutive novels, creating epic arcs that definitely capture a sense of grandeur and scale.

Setting herself apart, she’s a writer that really stands on her own, getting the most of her work and from her subjects. Letting the writing speak for itself essentially, she allows it to speak to the reader directly, saying exactly what she intends clearly and articulately. This approach doesn’t take away from the fact that she has her own message underlying it all either, as she has a strong set of themes and principles running throughout. Giving it a greater sense of depth in the process, she elevates the material to bold new heights, something which her audience has really come to respect over the years.

Early and Personal Life

Native to the city and area of New York, May Dawson would grow up with a keen interest in both reading and writing. This passion of hers would continually develop throughout the years, as she would come to harness her love of the writing craft. Mainly focusing on the genre of fantasy and romance, she would find her own idiosyncratic niche within the overall literary industry and genre.

Over time she would find her own unique voice, as Dawson would proceed to create something entirely different in her work. Drawing heavily from her own experiences and the world around her, she would manage to give it a real sense of weight too, allowing the work to resonate with readers worldwide. Currently living in the area of Virginia, she continues to write to this present day, and there’s so much more to come yet.

Writing Career

First starting out back in 2017, May Dawson would begin her literary career with the novel ‘Wild Angels,’ and this would also be the first in her ‘Lilith and Her Harem’ series. Following this up with ‘Fierce Angels’ the following year in 2018, she’d bring out the second novel in the series, and then the third, ‘Dirty Angels,’ that same year. She’d later the finish the series with ‘Chosen Angels’ later that year completing her first series, and really establishing a name for herself.

Other series that she would go on to write and publish were titled ‘True and the Crown,’ ‘Bad Medium,’ ‘Academy of the Supernatural,’ and ‘Their Shifter Academy’ to name just a few. She’d also write alongside fellow fantasy genre and romance writers Lacey Carter Anderson, Helen Scott, and Alexa B James. Contributing to various other series as well, along with bringing out some omnibus editions of her work, she continues growing in popularity.

Chosen Angels

Initially published through the Kindle publishing platform, this would be the fourth and final title in the ‘Lilith and her Harem’ fantasy series. Definitely an adult novel with some highly erotic scenes throughout, it was first published in 2018 on the 10th of May. The books themselves need to be read in order so as to get the most from them all and fully enjoy the overall series.

Ellis is being called into the depths of Hell, as Nimshi has been struck down by the Final Blade, with Lucifer calling her down after him. Heading down with her boys, Ellis must now journey in after Nim in order to rescue him, as they attempt to slip past the defences of the Far whilst staying alive in the real-world. If they make it to the Council and the trial taking place there it’ll be difficult, in what’s going to be trying and dangerous ordeal. Will they manage to make it there, can they save Nim from Satan, and what will finally become of those known as the chosen angels?

As a finale to the first epic series from May Dawson this doesn’t miss a beat, really cementing her credentials as a fantasy author. Fully exploring the fantasy world of her imagination, it manages to capture the essence of the previous books whilst really standing on its own. There’s plenty of twists and turns along the way, making this a perfect example of the genre and a must for both fans of the series and Dawson as an author.

Five Kinds of Love

Originally brought out through the Kindle platform back in 2019, this would first come out on the 25th of October. Released to much acclaim and anticipation, this would be the fifth in ‘The True and the Crown’ series of greatly admired novels. Following on from the previous novels, it’s best that they’re all read in order, so as to get the most from all of them as a complete series.

Tera believed it wouldn’t get much more difficult than she’d first thought, with Airren, Cax, and Mycroft trapped between life and death. Now the rips between the worlds are beginning to tear too, as Ravengers are spilling through, before proceeding to stalk their human prey. Not only that, but the people of Avalon believe it to be entirely Tera’s doing, as she must dethrone the kings to save those she loves. Will she be able to do it and save the day, can she protect those she cares deeply about, and what will become of five kinds of love?

Another great entry to an already stellar magical fantasy series, this works on every level, really pushing the concept to its fullest. There’s so much to enjoy here, and fans of the series definitely won’t be disappointed by what’s on offer for the reader here. The characters and the tone are brilliantly realized, making this one of the better entries of the fantasy genre as a whole.
