The American writer Megan Miranda is someone who has come a long way in recent years, having made a name for herself in a relatively short amount of time. Writing stories that speak to her audience on an almost personal level, she really knows how to essentially combine both character and narrative to thrilling effect. The suspense that she builds is also something that many have come to appreciate too, keeping the reader continually guessing right until the final page. Clearly a master of her craft, she has a unique style of writing that draws the reader, something that will carry on for a long time yet.

Early and Personal Life

Born in America, the writer to be Megan Miranda would grow up in New Jersey nurturing a keen passion for the written word, which she would continue throughout her life. Continually looking for new and inventive ways in which to express herself, she would constantly be on the lookout for exciting ideas to put into her next book. This would be something that she’d come to develop as time went on, building her writing career into what it currently is today.

Later graduating from MIT, she would apply herself to her work, building up her style and her tone, creating something which was entirely unique to her. Combining character and narrative, she would take ideas from the world around her, as she would create a style that was both direct and engaging in equal measure. Largely writing for the Young Adult demographic, she would come to be regarded as one of the foremost writers working within her field.

Building a strong presence both online as well as off, Megan Miranda would come to exemplify the best of what her particular genre had to offer. Taking her own life experiences, she would establish a style of authenticity that many writers aspire too, with it speaking almost directly to the reader. This would pay off as she would become a worldwide bestseller, with reader from all across the globe quickly discovering her work and what she has to offer as an author.

Currently living in North Carolina with her husband and their two children, she manages to maintain a regular and consistent output with her writing. With a status as a bestselling author she is admired by both critics and the general public alike, with many singing her praises from far and wide. Not showing signs of stopping any time soon either, she will continue to write on into the foreseeable future for quite some time yet.

Writing Career

It would be in 2012 that Megan Miranda would make her big literary debut with the novel ‘Fracture’, which would also be the first in a series of the same name. She would also release this alongside the smaller spin-off novella in the ‘Fracture’ series that same year, it being titled ‘Eleven Minutes’. She would later follow this up with the sequel ‘Vengeance’, which she would release in 2014, thus continuing the ongoing story of the series.

Represented by the agent Sarah Davies through ‘The Greenhouse Literary Agency’, Megan Miranda has come a long way as an author. Relating to her audience, she is able to communicate her ideas with a sense of brevity and wit, whilst also building a feeling of suspense and tension simultaneously. This then ensures that her books are almost impossible to put down, as she has plenty more titles planned for release on the horizon as well.

Vengeance

Brought out initially on the ‘Bloomsbury Children’s’ publishing label, this was to be the second title in the ongoing ‘Fracture’ series of novels. Originally published on the 4th of February in 2014, it would continue on from the last in much the same vein as before. It would also seek to develop the story overall too, taking it forwards to new and exciting places in the process, giving it an entirely different direction to before.

With this being the second part of an ongoing Young Adult series, it really manages to retain the attention of its now wide-ranging audience. The characters themselves having already been well established, she creates new and intriguing obstacles for them to overcome as the story progresses. Using its environment and locations well too, it really creates an atmosphere and ambiance that is something quite different too.

Looking for revenge, Falcon Lake has only one thing on their mind as they seek to acquire their goal by any means necessary. Dragging his best friend Delaney from the lake, Decker makes a deal for it to be anyone but them, leaving the lake to take Carson instead. This leads to all their friends blaming Delaney for the terrible tragedy, but Decker knows that Delaney would’ve done anything to save Carson. Is that really the case though? Will a new body test that previously thought to be truth? Who will get their vengeance?

Fragments of the Lost

This time released through the ‘Crown Books for Young Readers’ publishing outlet, this would be a stand-alone story, not being a part of any series. Initially published in 2017 on the 14th of November, this would come to show a development in the career of Miranda as an author. Providing many of the now staple traditions of her writing, it really manages to develop her style and tone overall as well.

Reaching newfound heights within her writing once again, this would raise the stakes, despite being a stand-alone novel. Taking the many ideas and themes that she’d worked with before, she would create characters that seemed wholly realistic, staying with the reader long after they’d put the book down. The world that it inhabits is also something to be admired too, as it really brings to life what the characters themselves are actually going through.

Knowing that she doesn’t belong in the life or bedroom of her ex-boyfriend Caleb, Jessa Whitworth can see herself everywhere still. From his pictures to his neatly folded T-Shirts, she is asked by his mother to pick up her things, who still blames her for his accident. Going through all of her old stuff though, she soon realizes that maybe she didn’t really know Caleb at all, as she begins to question the accident itself. What really happened on that windswept bridge? Can she learn the truth? Where are the fragments of the lost?
