Largely writing romance novels, the American novelist Michele Sinclair is an author currently working at the forefront of her genre, as she has made an extremely large impact within the industry, not only the setting the template for a lot of romance fiction to follow, but also creating a worldwide following surrounding her work, as each release is met eagerly with anticipation and excitement at each and every installment. This has seen her becoming not only commercially successful, but critically acclaimed as well, with many of her peers and contemporaries alike singing her praises, as she has managed to garner a number of good reviews for her work. Not only creating enticing premises coupled with seductive and alluring prose, she has been able to create characters that are well drawn and realistic too, allowing them essentially to come alive on the page and give her books a sense of vibrancy and passion in the process. All this has lead to her becoming one of the most prolific authors working within her field, as she really has clear understanding and comprehension of the craft and how each and every novel should operate. This has seen her become an authority on the subject, as she draws a lot from her own legacy and family history, something which she holds in very high esteem. The Sinclair name is something that she holds very close to her heart, as it dates back to Scotland in the 1600s, something which has helped inspire much of her work throughout her career. This has proven to be an almost endless source of inspiration, as she has created many stories both in and around Scotland, drawing from all the rich history that the country has to offer. Doing this legacy a justice in her novels is something which she will continue to do for many years to come, as she shows no signs of stopping anytime soon either.

Early and Personal Life

Growing up with a strong creative streak, the author to be Michele Sinclair always needed an outlet for this and writing novels and fiction provided just that. Over time she would turn her attention towards writing fiction, as she has always had a position writing for a living, but it was only after some time that she would finally start to write stories of her own. This would then allow her to voice her own ideas and personality through her work, as she would finally come to writing her first novel after the birth of her second child.

Always a a voracious and passionate reader of romance literature, she would turn her love of the art-form into a lucrative career all of her very own. Having had over twenty years of writing experience prior to becoming a full-time author of fiction, she was originally a a copy-editor for a variety of journals, allowing her to find her own style in the process. Still writing to this very day, she continues to read a number of romance books, as well as a variety of science-fiction novels too, another genre which she also holds a strong interest in, and something she will continue to do for a long time to come yet.

Writing Career

Bringing out her first novel back in 2007, she would make a considerable amount of impact upon the literary scene with the title ‘The Highlander’s Bride’. This would also go on to become the first novel in the ongoing and long-running ‘McTiernays’ series of novels, which were the titles she would perhaps become most famous for. They would also pave the way for a stellar new talent, as she subsequently wrote the ‘Promises Trilogy’, which she would start in the year of 2012 with the novel ‘A Woman Made for Pleasure’.

Releasing a stand-alone novel as well, she is also known and equally well regarded for her 2010 novel ‘The Christmas Knight’ which would showcase her talent for writing for a self-enclosed story. A member of the ‘Romance Writers of America’ she has become an integral part of the romance community over the years, making a successful career for herself as an author. With her writing career growing from strength-to-strength, she will continue to write on into the foreseeable future, with a lot more novels set to come yet, as there are plenty more titles set for release on the horizon.

Desiring the Highlander

Initially brought out in 2009, this was first released through the ‘Zebra’ publishing label, as it was met with both excitement and anticipation. Setting up the third title in the ongoing ‘McTiernays’ series of novels, it managed to further develop the world of this Scottish family with further members of their clan. Providing another romance story, it’s loosely connected to the other titles, as it provides a self-contained romantic narrative, allowing readers to read casually if they want to.

This time seeing Cole McTiernay as the leading love interest of the seven McTiernay brothers, each one with their own story to tell, as he undertakes the responsibilities of his legacy. Living in the wilds of the northern Highlands, the lands need a laird to lead the people, and he is just that man, despite his reluctance at being a leader of his men and army. That’s when he’s sent into England to retrieve a hellion by the name of Ellenor and bring her back to Scotland, something which he is dead set against at first. Can she temper his heart, though? Will passion arise between the two of them? What will happen when she finds herself desiring the Highlander?

The Christmas Knight

Brought out through the ‘Zebra’ publishing outlet once again, this was to be a stand-alone novel from Sinclair. Following many of the romantic tropes that she’d used before, this works as a self-contained fun addition to her oeuvre. Clearly confident and in command of her craft by this point, it is a great example of what she has to offer as an author of romantic literature.

Bronwyn de Breton has been left alone with her two younger sisters in the unprotected Hunswick Castle by their father over Christmastide, leaving them vulnerable. That’s when a knight arrives looking to take the castle as his own, along with the younger sister of Bronwyn, as he’s been sent on a mission to do so. This doesn’t quite play out as he’d initially planned, though, as Bronwyn meets him under the guise of being her own sister, a ploy which doesn’t fool the knight, but leaves him feeling intrigued by a passion arising from deep within. Will they form an alliance? Can he keep them all safe? What will become of the Christmas knight?

I just read the first two books in the Promises Trilogy.
Quite a few cliffhangers left open.
Would love to read Jenelle’s story. I would also like to learn more about the new characters introduced in the 2nd book, not to mention the outcome of the mystery! Wondering when the 3rd book will be out.
