Michelle Rowen is a young adult fantasy, paranormal romance, futuristic romantic suspense, and urban fantasy author.

She started out as a graphic designer, which is a career that the pursued for more than a dozen years before she quit to become a professional author. Rowen published “Angel with Attitude” her debut novel in 2006 and kicked on from there.

She now has more than twenty novels to her name spread across more than half a dozen novels and single-standing titles. Her works have been on the Borders Group/Waldenbooks bestseller lists and she won the Holt Medallion award in 2007.

She has made a name for herself writing light paranormal romance chick-lit novels with non-explicit but sexy love scenes.

Michelle is the President of Toronto Romance Writers and currently makes her home in Southern Ontario. When she is not writing her novels she can usually be found spending time with her family and friends.

The self-confessed bibliophile is a huge reader and reality TV junkie with a love for all things “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”

The Toronto, Ontario-born author grew up with all manner of dreams. She once wanted to become a jewel thief, flight attendant, and writer.
Growing up, she was a huge lover of books and would read all manner of fiction and nonfiction works. Ever since she was 12 years old, she wanted to become an author.

She was inspired to start writing when she was frustrated with the endings of the books and movies she read. At some point, Michelle Rowen realized that she could write the endings to the stories she liked and not be at the mercy of the creator.

In the beginning, she dabbled in a lot of writing and penned a few short stories here and there. However, she was always interested in long-form novels. Unlike many authors who start out picturing short stories, Michelle always had very long stories with multiple characters that just could not be contained in short stories.

As such, it was not surprising that the first thing that she published was the paranormal romance novel “Bitten & Smitten.”

In the very beginning, Michelle Rowen was inspired to pen vampire fiction and urban fantasy by Laurell K. Hamilton.

Before she published her debut paranormal mystery, she had written many young adult, urban fantasy, and paranormal romance manuscripts. Other than her writing history, she has always been drawn to any stories with satisfying resolutions and complicated mysteries.

Rowen’s publishing journey was quite old-fashioned as she started by sending query letters. This was how she came to get her agent in 2004 after sending out dozens of query letters.

After becoming an award-winning and bestselling author she has gone on to write for Bloomsbury, Penguin, Dorchester, Grand Central, and Harlequin. Writing as Morgan Rhodes, she has also found success and become a New York Times bestselling author of high fantasy young adult novels.

Michelle Rowen’s novel “Bitten & Smitten” opens with Sarah Dearly young woman who goes on a date organized for her by her best friend.
She wakes up to find her previous night’s blind date trying to bury her at the local cemetery. He is pretending to be a vampire and tells her that she is now his. Flabbergasted, she hits him with the pepper spray she always carries to ward off crazy men.

Things only get more interesting when she meets a bunch of even crazier people that declare themselves to be vampire killers. They have stuck a stake into her date’s heart, and she had only survived their assault as she was saved by a suicidal man who was passing by.

The man who saved her happens to be Thierry de Bennicoeur, a very sexy and seductive man who tells her that he is hundreds of years old. He tells her that he is going to show her everything she needs to learn about the world of vampires but she thinks he is just another deluded man.
She is finally forced to accept that she is a vampire when she feels a strong need to lick the finger of her boss who had cut himself in the office.

“Fanged & Fabulous” by Michelle Rowen continues to follow the life and times of newly turned vampire Sarah Dearly. She is just coming to terms with her new vampire status but she will need to deal with even bigger issues.

She has so far managed to take down a vampire hunter that was trying to kill her. For her bold action, she has been nick-named Slayer of Slayers and given the credit for the death of several other vampire hunters.

Because of her reputation in the vampire hunter world, the hunters have sent one of their most feared to take her out. Fortunately, the six-century-old Thierry has become something of her boyfriend.

But now that she needs him more he has been distancing himself. She has been forced to take bodyguards but that did not prevent the hunters from torching her apartment. She has also not yet informed her parents that she recently became a vampire.

It is a good thing that she happens to be resourceful and resilient since it will take everything to keep her loved ones and herself alive.

Michelle Rowen’s novel “Lady & the Vamp” is the story of Michael Quinn, a former vampire hunter who has now been turned. It is the worst nightmare for the man and he can only hope that he can lay his hands on a long-lost artifact named the Eye.

A possessor of the artifact will be able to make one wish and he is hopeful given that he has a map to the location of the eye. Once he finds it, he intends to make a wish to be turned back into a human.

On the other hand, is a human woman named Janie Parker who could not have been more imperfect. But the worst mistake she made is getting trapped in the employ of a demon. The demon pays poorly and she is forced to undertake grotesque assignments and if she refuses she may be subjected to a gruesome death.

Her latest assignment is to track down a vamp who she is reliably informed has information on where some valuable treasure is hidden. She thinks nothing of it until she meets Michael Quinn, a man she has crushed on since she was a preteen.

Too bad he may need to kill the man to get the valuable talisman in his possession. But Janie and Quinn are kindred spirits and it is not long before they are falling for each other despite being competitors for the Eye.
