Mike Pettit is the bestselling American author of action, mystery, adventure, and thriller & suspense novels. The author’s characters include Jack Marsh, John Locke, and Sam Nash. At the age of 12, Pettit had already read the works of prolific writers such as Edgar Rice Burroughs, Jules Verne, Mark Twain and Robert Louis Stevenson. Many of his novels have their setting outside the United States since Pettit has spent most of his life operating in Asia. He made his debut as published author in 2010 when he self-published Honorable Revenge the first novel in John Locke series. By the end of the year 2011, the author had already self-published over seven titles.

Honorable Revenge

When John Locke sees danger approaching him like a banshee from hell, he not only starts shooting but also gets himself caught in an adrenaline race that does not stop until the last man standing. Locke’s world is full of ruthless and cruel people that will do anything either kill or steal for the fortune it brings them. There is a dark place that a sane mind would never dare go unless they are dragged in never to be seen again. There are drug lords that will kill, mutilate and freeze their competitors, then the secret Chinese Triads that think crime and business go hand in hand and that murder is a way to seal a deal.
John Locke spends his day in Los Angeles working in the courthouse trying to find new clients that need lawyer-up. The one decade he spent in a “bottle” affected him mainly, as he can hardly remember his marriage, his promising career was ruined, and now he lives with the fear that life is just passing him by. What he does is just to survive amongst the competitive human race, residing in a three room apartment and chasing the bottom feeder cases to keep him in the game. He also works as a part time investigator, and he pays his bills, makes his rent and keeps looking for a way up the ladder.

His way out comes from a darkened window overlooking the passageway that runs behind his house. He witnesses a murder that sends him into the wrong places where a man’s soul sells for only a kilo of cocaine. He is caught in a devilish criminal plot set by the Chinese Triads to overtake the world’s diamond market, and he also trips up a deal that brings down a billion dollar and most wanted Mexican drug cartel. For John Locke to survive, he must escape his adversaries, follow blood trails to the streets of China Town and back to the streets of Los Angeles underbelly. And when all this gunfire clears, Locke walks away with more than just brand and fame on his back, but also with a bullet in his side. He has finally found out that revenge and honor are the same and that the enemies in life are brothers in death.

Honorable Revenge, the first novel in John Locke series is a brilliant read. The main character John is a former Marine soldier and an occasional California attorney. He is smart, brave, and utilizes his skills acquired as a marine to escape all his adversaries and finally emerge victories. The novel is fast paced, full of nonstop action, and there are some bits of love scene between Locke and his girlfriend. The supporting characters are brilliant, and add some enjoyment to the narrative.

The Body Broker

What would you do if you received the devastating news that you need an organ transplant? Where would you go? Would you add your name to the wait list hoping that you don’t die while waiting? Whom would you call for help? Where would you go when every second count?

But do not worry; help could be closer than you think. In the shadows of darkness is the Body Broker, from who you can purchase anything, but only if you got the money and in the required amount. You can get anything, a kidney here, a heart there, a child, a young woman, twins perhaps? Anything is available for asking, the business is booming and the demand is also high, and it is a seller’s market. The only risk available is those unsuspecting donors, those victims stolen and sold for their vital body parts.

The Broker conducts his business across the world, hawking organs, hunting down his victims in the night like a vampire and closing his deals professionally.
When John agrees to find his ex-wife missing stepson, he dives into the world full of danger and killings that his professional training as a marine never prepared him for. The only way that he could survive these evil acts is only if he comes out shooting. He soon finds himself caught in the world of human traffic and organ trading. His hunt for the missing stepson tosses him in the hunt for a man popularly known in the streets as The Organ Player. The leads take him in bloody and lethal chases in the underbelly of Los Angeles to Macau’s brothels, to the Cayman Islands and organ markets and back to Los Angeles for a showdown he never imagined. The world of Body Broker includes secret bank accounts, harvesting clinics, power players, political playoffs, unsuspecting organ recipients and Hollywood elites. On the other hand, his victims are the runaways, the homeless, veterans, prisoners, the unsuspecting, the poor and the unwary.

John Locke hit and run tactics finally expose and international network of killing for money that sends seismic shock waves across the halls of power, and leaves everyone questioning the selfishness of our fellow human beings and to the extent that our fellow man will go for just a little more to live.

Little Tokyo

In this installment, John takes an assignment for his good friend who daughter was murdered in a snuff film and trips onto a Japanese Yakuza conspiracy to take control of an international pornographic industry multimillion dollar business. As Locke fights his way in search of master mind of the snuff films he also finds himself hunted by the Yakuza gang who also want him dead. He finds himself outnumbered and outmaneuvered in every single step that he makes and suspects that someone within the ATF, LAPD or the FBI is working with the Yakuza mercenaries. Among his enemies is a lethal studio executive who finds herself hunted by both the Yakuza and Locke as she tries a double cross. The action in this installment builds up at a relentless pace, with torture, murder, deception and mortal combat being the order of the day.
