Clearly showing a love for her art-form, she previously worked within the greetings cards industry writing poems and jokes, during which time she would help to kick-start the ‘Purple Ronnie’ phenomena, which involved an iconic character who come to be featured on a number of different cards. Showing a great wit too, she writes with intelligence and consideration, as she manages to evoke a real feeling charm and compassion through her work, allowing the reader to feel emotionally invested in her material and what it is that she is writing about. Creating romantic fiction, she is a master of her craft now, showing a clear talent for the genre, as she has become adept at the format, shaping it into how she sees it, ultimately making it work for her. Professionally writing jokes for a living too, she is an after-dinner speaker, as she has a sense-of-humor that really manages to match her intelligence and style, drawing the reader in and entertaining them throughout. This is something that has run strongly throughout her entire career, as she has created a whole range of compelling novels and characters, all of whom come to life off of the page, enabling the reader to immerse themselves within her world. A bestselling author internationally as well as nationally, she is revered around the world by both critics and the general public alike. Appearing on television on numerous occasions too, she is no stranger to maintaining a key public presence too, speaking in front of the general public. This is something that will carry on into the foreseeable future, as her writing career continues to grow from strength-to-strength for quite some time to come.

Early and Personal Life

Born in 1964 on the 23rd of February, Milly Johnson would gain her love of the creative arts from her grandparents, as they imbued in her a love of reading and literature, something which she would continue with throughout her life. It would also be her grandfather who would share old wrestling stories with her, as she would become fascinated by the colorful names of wrestlers from an early age. Attending St. Lukes in Exeter, she would go on to graduate from university with a degree in drama and teacher training, all the while pursuing her love of the creative arts. Later she would turn to working as a copywriter for the greetings cards industry, and it was here that she would come to practice her craft, whilst also honing her style. Marrying in 1995 and then divorcing in 2000, she would have her first baby in 1998, and she currently still writes to this very day, something that she will carry on for a long time yet, with plenty more books planned in the future.

Writing Career

Publishing her first novel in 2007, she would bring her first book out with the novel ‘The Yorkshire Pudding Club’ out onto the market, as this would introduce her idiosyncratic and distinctive sense-of-humor for the first time. Creating a series following this with the ‘Four Seasons’ franchise of novels, she would quickly go on to establish a name for herself as a fully fledged brand. Winning numerous awards over the years, she would also go on to make a name for herself with the critics as well, along with gaining a bestselling status. Her career continues to grow, as she maintains a strong presence both online and off, including her many television appearances too, something that shall carry on for a long time yet.

A Spring Affair

Originally released through the Pocket Books publishing outlet, this was initially published in 2009 to much acclaim. Working entirely as a stand-alone, it would come to exemplify much of Johnson’s wit, humor and infectious charm. With each and every page springing to life, it really is a book that bristles with fun and energy, giving her characters a very real sense of joy and compassion.

Great as a casual read, this seemingly light-hearted novel breezes along, all whilst underlying the narrative with a number funny and intelligent jokes. With likable characters too, it’s difficult to put down, as the reader finds them-self relating to the lead protagonist. Using realistic settings too, Johnson really works to make sure the material resonates on a fundamental level for her audience.

After spotting an article on clearing out extensive clutter from the home in a doctor’s waiting room, Lou Winter embarks on an adventure of epic proportions. Attempting to clear out clutter herself, she finds herself hiring numerous skips, all of which leads to those around her, including her husband, questioning her health and sanity. She feels better than ever though, as she finds herself clearing out all the mess that she never knew was cluttering up her life. Where will it lead though? Will it ever end? What will become of a spring affair?

A Winter Flame

Released through ‘Simon and Schuster UK’ publishing label this time, this would also be a stand-alone title from Milly Johnson as an author. Showing a clear sense of development from her previous books, it is a definite must for any fans of the author, as well as fans of romance in general. With a clear sense of fun again as well, it really engages the reader, drawing them in deep into its witty and compelling narrative.

Eve was never a fan of Christmas, a disliking which is made all the more ironic after her aunt leaves her a Christmas themed theme park in her will. The one major stipulation is though, that she must run it with a stranger called Jacques Glace, as the two of them find they have plenty of questions for each other. Looking to work together, they soon find they might have more than just a working relationship blossoming between them though. Will they ever discover the truth behind the will? Why have they been brought together? What will become of a winter flame?
