Mindy Quigley is a bestselling mystery fiction author who has won many awards for her short fiction works over the years. Some of her most prestigious wins include the Lightbringer Award in 2019 and the Bloody Scotland Prize in 2013.
She has also been employed at the Duke University Medical Center’s pastoral services program as coordinator. It is from her work there that she found the inspiration for the “Reverend Lindsay Harding Mystery” series of novels.
Mindy published “A Murder in Mount Moriah” her debut work of fiction and the first of the series in 2013. Quigley now has at least half a dozen works to her name.

She has also published several nonfiction works including an academic article she did with the creator of “Dolly the Sheep.”

Mindy currently makes her home in Blacksburg, Virginia a college town where she lives with her husband a Civil War history professor, their daughter, and dog.

For Mindy Quigley, writing is something that she usually just does on the side. At the moment, she heads the Virginia Tech Veterinary College’s efforts to expand their clinical offerings for horses, cats, and dogs.
This means that she has to do a lot of outreach to owners and vets and interact with fur babies of all stripes. Mindy has also worked for a while in human hospitals.

In more recent times, she has been working at a University of Edinburgh research center, the Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic, which was founded by J.K. Rowling.

She found her time there wonderful and incredibly fulfilling, even if she still prefers to work at the vet hospital.

In her current job, the best times are when she is hanging out in the clinic babysitting a couple of terriers, while they await their turn for an appointment at the genetic study room.
Having interacted with both humans and animals, she thinks humans can never be as cuddly as puppies and kittens.

In her spare time, she works as a novelist, penning a series of lighthearted cozy mysteries that center on the life and times of a chef and her cat.

Her novels are published with one of the large mass market publishers and have sold tens of thousands of copies as they retail on the majors such as Walmart, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon.
Since she published under her name, she can now say that her creative talent is no longer hidden from anyone.

A lesser-known fact about her writing is that her new series found inspiration from a study she conducted about weight loss and feline obesity a few years ago.
