Mona Marple is a mystery writer and writes the “Mystic Springs Paranormal Cozy Mystery” series and the “Waterfell Tweed Cozy Mystery” series.

She loves things like fluffy socks and fine notebooks. When she is not creating (and murdering) characters, she can often be found reading a book.

Mona used to sell stories she hadn’t written yet to kids on the playground at school. She used to shout out that they were one penny, which is odd for her. She has always been shy, so it’s odd for her to shout anything across the playground. She would have the titles, that she probably came up with while singing to Boyzone songs, on a piece of paper, and have them pick the stories out. Once they handed over a penny, she would then write them their story. This allowed the kids to get their very own Mona tale, and for just a penny.

The story titles were written on double sided, narrow ruled paper, as she has always been a bit particular about the paper she likes. Now she likes grid, but back then, it was narrow ruled.

Now she is based in the country in England, where she writes her cozy mystery tales and lives with her daughter and husband.

“Once Upon A Crime” is the first novel in the “Waterfell Tweed Cozy Mystery” series, which was released in the year 2017. Sandy Shaw enjoys her reign as the only bookseller and baker in Waterfell Tweed, a sleepy village. The local eccentric, called Reginald, announces his plans to open up a competing shop right across the square. As a result, Sandy does not hide her frustration well. She puts together her plan of attack, Reginald goes from being the weirdo of the town to being the town’s corpse.

Thrust into the center of a murder case as its prime suspect, Sandy has to go from selling buns to solving crimes rapidly. With only herself to pull her biscuits from the fire, she has to set down her rolling pin aside and get to work. Should she fail to find the killer in time, she is going to be serving much more than just jam and tea.

These characters are very engaging and the author is able to paint a detailed portrait of Waterfell Tweed that you will actually want to go for a visit. The book can be read in a single sitting with its turns and twists that make you keep on guessing.

“A Tale of Two Bodies” is the second novel in the “Waterfell Tweed Cozy Mystery” series, which was released in the year 2018. A squatter from Waterfell Manor gets killed during a hit and run, Sandy is just determined to allow the cops to deal with the case.

Another attack happens, and the cops appear to be focused on the wrong person, and Sandy understands she is going to need to take matters into her own hands. Will she be able to solve this case before more people get hurt?

Mona Marple delivers a well planned mystery and some characters that feel entirely real to those that read it. It is cleverly plotted, and a great read for anybody that loves reading mystery novels. There is a lot of suspense and it is tough to figure out just who the killer is.

“A Valentine’s Kill” is the third novel in the “Waterfell Tweed Cozy Mystery” series, which was released in the year 2018. Valentine’s Day is coming, and the cozy village of Waterfell Tweed gets rocked by a familiar face’s rather unwelcome return.

Sandy Shaw does not think Dick Jacobs (the Health and Safety Officer) is just as bad as most say. Within just hours, he has shut one village business down and has other targets on his list, one of which is Books and Bakes. Sandy finds Dick’s lifeless body, and she vows to track down his killer. Quickly, her investigation points in a direction she does not wish to believe could be true.

Will she be able to solve this case? Is life ever going to be the same if she does?

The entire time readers were wondering how things would turn out for everybody. Some readers wound up surprised at the who by the end of this whodunit. Reading this book was a pleasant experience and the town of Waterfell Tweed began to feel like home to some.

“Murder Most Remote” is the fourth novel in the “Waterfell Tweed Cozy Mystery” series, which was released in the year 2018. Sandy expects her trip off to the island of Mull to be just a relaxing break with Tom Nelson, her new boyfriend. Taking a guided tour around Mull Castle is exactly what she had in mind. Then the lights went out.

One person did not survive the dark. There is a killer among them, and the mainland, and the cops are unable to help any until the storm passes. It is up to Sandy to solve this case in this close room mystery.

Readers enjoyed the change in location, to a castle in Scotland. It is great to see Sandy investigate the cases confidently and you get to see her follow logical arguments, and Sandy questioning suspects by herself. These things all help the reader try and figure out who the killer is, too.

“Bang! You’re Dead” is the fifth novel in the “Waterfell Tweed Cozy Mystery” series, which was released in the year 2018. The sleepy village of Waterfell Tweed gets rocked to its core when a local teacher is killed.

The plot thickens once the cops reveal the killing was done by a hit man, and Sandy gets thrown into things when a former acquaintance phones for help from HMP Leyton Scrubs.

Sandy has been able to solve her share of killings, but she will enter an odd underworld. A place where a man’s life comes at a price and nothing is like it seems. Will Sandy be able to solve this case, or has she finally met her match?
