When it comes to being a killing machine without heart, it was a failure. In the future, humanity is spacefaring, but society is also dominated by corporations. Missions to planets have to be approved by the Company and supplied by them too. Exploratory teams also have safety checks in place since they are accompanied by security androids, of course helpfully supplied by the Company.

However, in this society contracts often go to the lowest bidder, and safety really is not a primary concern when it comes to that. Meanwhile, a team of scientists on a faraway planet is conducting surface tests, all the while shadowed by the android from the Company. This is a SecUnit that is self-aware and has even hacked its own personal governor module. As a result, it calls itself Murderbot. Although the android only does it internally and never says the Murderbot name out loud.

Murderbot does not care about humans and just wants to have time alone to figure out who they are. However, when a mission close by goes dark, Murderbot may have to work along scientists to find out what truly happened. Will they get results? Read this book to find out!

Nothing is stopping it, so the android moves forward with its investigation. It pairs with ART, a research transport vessel, and heads off to the mining facility where it first went rogue. Will what Murderbot discovers change its very way of thought? Read this book to catch all of the action and find out what this android does!
